"Welcoming and comfortable."

8.0

The Bridge House is in a great location. Clean, comfortable and welcoming. Breakfast items are supplied (cereals, milk, eggs, bread etc). Loved the big deck where you could sit and enjoy a coffee. Easy communication with the owners.

Nothing. Was sad to leave and could have stayed longer

"So Glad I Backpacked This Highway."

10.0

It was incredible it was a wet day so been able to enter earlier than 2pm was brilliant, as a full time Backpacker I really appreciated the hot shower and the space to just relax, whilst been right in this incredible little village. I'd never stayed in a BnB before and this definitely was way more then I expected. Much love to the owners.

What didn't I like..I really didn't like closing the door behind me and walking away at 5.30am lol, there is no complaints,.it's more then value for money and the locals are super nice.

Warm once fire got going. Comfortable beds. Plenty of towels.

Lack of communication re accessing property. Phone number didn't work, then when it did connect, noone answered. Mouse droppings in pot cupboard, ends of soap left in shower. Lack of light in kitchen. 3/4 loaf of bread in fridge, lots of half used spreads. Felt like we had walked into someone's house. A little more communication about the property would have been useful.

Reminded me of my grandparent's house. Loved the vibe. Wood burner did a great job of drying out all my soaked bikepacking gear

"A really charming cottage set right in the heart of town where history and the present meet!"

10.0

An absolute treasure found in this lonely part of the Forgotten World Highway. This is somewhat of a rustic place to stay and with sheep and goats grazing around the property. A large, covered deck affords rural views overlooking an old and disused rail bridge. A BBQ is provided on the deck for those warmer evenings. (I guess they must have such evenings!) The interior of the cottage has been tastefully decorated with a contemporary flair which belies the fact this is rather an old dwelling and part of the historical significance of this tiny "town". There was an ample supply of firewood neatly stacked at the back door to fuel the free-standing wood fire. This truly is a "home away from home" and the host has ensured there is everything a guest might need for the duration of their stay. This is a unique property and provides alternative style of accommodation to the old hotel close by. (We did however get a decent pub meal from the hotel.) To our surprise, internet access was freely available which was a real bonus. We highly recommend this place for a quiet self-catered style of accommodation, and you will be able to sense being part of the history of the town.

There were no instructions provided regarding gaining a key on arrival. As it turned out the door was simply left unlocked, and we just walked in! We didn't find a welcome pack with any instructions once we arrived though there was a note about turning on the TV and selecting channels and information on gaining internet access.
