"AVOID AT ALL COSTS"

The bed linen was clean as were the bathroom

The photos on the website are misleading too, another holiday home has been built on the land Our accommodation did not have a dishwasher only a sink with no draining board and a warped and old Formica worktop which had a hole cut out of it and a tile stuck on to fill the space. There was a sink unit with a drainer downstairs but we weren’t going to take the pots downstairs to wash them up! We had one key to the property, inconvenient for two parties, and the key was not to the main living area but a bedroom so, every time you needed access to the accommodation, it was through somebodies bedroom! There was no air conditioning! There was a washer and a tumble dryer but, unfortunately this was housed in a bedroom cupboard so, when in use, the bedroom was turned into a sauna (the bedroom door and windows could not be left open as the bedroom was downstairs and not overlooked from the main living area). There was a big fridge/freezer in the kitchen but, unfortunately, like the food cupboards, it was full of the property owners food and no space had been cleared for our use. We did move their food to clear a fridge drawer for our use but we had to wash these out prior to our use as there was dried on food/blood in and around the drawers and fridge area which we had to soak before we could clean it off (just what you want to greet you on your arrival). There wasn’t an empty cupboard to store our food therefore we had to store most in a box on the floor and our cereal on a shelf we cleared in the living room. Holiday Home was overlooked, there was a front lawn (but no garden furniture or privacy to make use of it). There was a very tired, warped table and benches for our use on the patio but the benches were fixed in place and not moveable and, as they were so old, prone to giving you splinters. We found the sun parasol but it was stored outside and covered in bird muck! It felt as though we had borrowed someone’s property for a few days.

This request just fans the flames of disappointment. We could not go to Coromandel due to the cyclone but leading up to that I sent 4 emails, asking for direction and assistance. All were ignored at a time that was distressing. Your people on the 0800 number are amazing but leaving them to hear frustrated customers and effectively not be able to do anything while the managers who probably get paid twice as much can't even be bothered to so much as send an email in reply. They deserve better and so do those that pay money and get appalling service! And then you send this to ask how it went. Think you need to up your game!
