Casa da Ribeira

Our stay at Casa da Ribeira was absolutely wonderful! The place was clean, comfortable, and had everything we needed for a relaxing stay. The kitchen was well-equipped, making it easy to prepare meals, and the internet worked flawlessly throughout our stay. The host, Silvia, was incredibly kind and helpful, making sure we felt at home from the very beginning.

The nearest shop is a bit far, and having a car is necessary to get around beyond the immediate area. However, this was not a major issue for us and was well worth it for the peaceful surroundings.

Silvia has done an excellent job in renovating her grandmother's home - what a wonderful way of keeping her grandmother's memory alive! We enjoyed our 4 nights at Casa Ribeira. The house is in a beautiful, and quiet, location. Silvia has produced a well-organized 'welcome book', with useful information about, for example, the house, medical services, restaurant suggestions (we also recommend Las Caraibas at Seixal), and even an alphabetical list of books available to read in the house. There is also a folder with information, and pictures, of the fruit trees and plants that can be found in the garden. The house was very clean, the kitchen was very well equipped, the bed was comfortable and the shower water was nice and hot! We liked the 2 seating options outside. The area is amazing, it's so peaceful and relaxing, everyday feels like Sunday, no one is rushing. Especially we want to thank our host Silvia who welcome us and show us the property. We will be back for sure!

The views from the garden are amazing and Sylvia was so kind, even waiting up for our delayed plane until midnight.

Everything, absolutely everything since very first meet with Silvia the lovely owner until the very last seconds in her amazing property - and even after. She delivered our forgotten mobile charger after we left - what a kind approach!

Cant get any useful suggestions what to improve eventually on the spot. Maybe Booking should offer 11 out of 10 rating option for such amazing place:-)

Casa da Ribeira is a very pleasant place to stay during your visit to Madeira. Located in São Vincente, it is a perfect basis for trips around the island. It's a nicely renovated, spatious, clean, cosy, and fully equipped house, able to easily accomodate an entire family - there's even a playroom for kids. After hiking, we, accompanied by lizzards, enjoyed resting on sunbeds in the garden surrounding the house. Should you be curious about the plants growing there, no problem, you will find a description of them in a booklet laying on the table :-) Sylvia, the host, is very friendly, willing to provide any kind of information to make sure your holiday goes smoothly. Thank you, Sylvia. In our opinion, 10 out of 10 is a well deserved score!
