Welcome Douro - Eco Camping Resort

Super friendly hosts. The pets are welcomed so good and the owners were super friendly to our dog! We wish to return :)

The location is great, and the staff was very nice. Breakfast was really good. The bungalow is quite spacious and was clean.

Unfortunately the pool was out of order and will be so for another two weeks. Since this was the main reason for booking here that was quite a disappointment. Cooking in the bungalow was a bit of a challenge, with only one very small cooking pan and one small frying pan available. The table and chairs were quite wobbly and one of the window blinds almost fell off the wall. I think this needs some attention.

Travelling alone as a young woman. Camp officer met me at taxi. Said my therapist could not do the massage and body scrub but HE offered to do it. I said NO. Then he offered someone else could come for half the price. I declined. The room smelled of weed. I was there as my cats were nearby getting surgery (fixed) One of the cats died :( I was devastated and wanted to be left alone. I told the nice girl who came to check to just please bring the other cat and I need to be alone. The reception man brought the cat and would not take my no he cannot enter and entered my room refusing my no saying he had to give me the instructions for the cat. I said please leave. He started arguing right away that I didn’t have to be rude to someone trying to help me. I said I don’t need help and get out again and he just stood there till I said Get T F OUT! I locked the door and he was yelling at me still behind the door till I screamed to leave me the F alone. Then he called the police. I decided it was not safe to stay there in my fragile state and the man wanted me to leave. They refused to refund my stay back to booking.com and I lost out two days hotel price €145.00 I am having to file a police report now for the terrible treatment. I am sure he will respond that I am terrible. But and smart woman just needs to speak with him and slight him even a little to see he is power tripping and creepy if you don’t speak to him exactly as he wants you to. Avoid at all costs this place is NOT a few bungalows on an estate. It is within a campground with caravans and tents. The corkscrew for a glass of wine took me 20 mins to open as was broken. The toilet roll holder fell off right away when taking paper the first time. Bathroom not ventilated well and has bad smell which makes the other rooms smell. Very little privacy unless blinds closing. And finally no Turkish hamman, pool or hotub as advertised. I am scared of this man as he now has my address and I live near the area. The worst hotel.

Beautiful location, it was very easy to walk around and it was in driving distance of many interesting sightseeing spots. Hosts and staff were all extremely friendly and very welcoming of my dog. I was able to take him everywhere, and the property was great for walks. The breakfast was very good, and the food at the restaurant as well. Facilities at the house were all good.

Not a dislike but a microwave would have been handy.

We had a problem with the balcony door closing and they tried to fix it quickly and they did. Still, it was about an hour that we had to be in the apartment instead of doing something else. The staff was very nice and talked about compensation, but unfortunately it never happened. I wouldn't need compensation, but if the staff mentioned it, I would expect it.
