It is a beautiful little house very well maintained, it gives you the feeling of being at home because of the warmth it radiates, the host is very welcoming and keeps in touch with you through your stay, have stayed in a lot of properties across Europe but hands down this was the best one, Thanks a lot Paula!

Perfect, great facilities, comfortable bed. Nice kitchen. Great to eat breakfast outside. We didn't really use the terrace above, but it was nice to sit there for a bit. WiFi was great as well.

Very friendly hosts, one of the best locations in Lagos, very cosy small house with one of the best price to performance ratios there is. The house is very clean as well and the hosts help with everything to the best of their abilities. Wifi download/upload speed is fast too.

One of the two beds is just a makeshift double bed. They want you to strip your bed and put the used sheets and linen covers and towels in a plastic bag before you leave, as well as take the trash out into a public bin. That was a first for me, but no real problem. The shower is a little small, no big issue tho. The bed frames feel low quality, also no big deal.

This home is well equipped and spotlessly clean. It is easy to maintain for a couple or small family. It is ideal whether you choose to stay home or venture into the area for many interesting sights and restaurants. Excellent host checks regularly to ensure you have what you need to enjoy your stay.

From the very start of our week at Casa d'Avó Arlete, everything was perfect. We were met by Paula's husband who was charming and equally funny. The house is extremely clean, fully equipped and totally quiet at night time. The beers, water and snacks were a very kind gesture as well as the lovely personal note from Paula. The terrace has the sun pitching on it from mid-morning to late evening which made all the difference to our stay. Walking around Lagos is a wonderful treat for the eyes and the stomach with beautiful views and seafood restaurants. We would highly recommend hiring a car. Parking in the street near the house is very easy. You must visit Sagres and the old fort, for beaches visit Salema and Bergau and Ager Sec is an absolute must see!! One of the highlights is to walk from the house to Ponta da Piedade. It's about 5km there and back along the coast. The whole coastline is a new boardwalk with viewpoints to stop and admire the vista every 100 metres or so. It's absolutely stunning!! If, like us, your flight home leaves in the evening, enjoy the beautiful sandy beach just south of the airport and we walked around the Ria Formosa and saw flamingoes!! The parking is free just at the start of this walk next to the airport. In fact parking was free everywhere we went. In short, beautiful, restful house, beautiful town, beautiful Algarve. Ooo, do drive into the mountains too, the cork trees, views and mountain air is stunning.

Mind where you're treading in the streets, dog mess is a problem.

The 2 bedroom property was very well maintained and very comfortable. Bathroom was clean, and kitchen was easy to use. We had a nice evening pizza in the backyard of the house. The house and hostess Paula were very accommodating - we had a midnight check in as flights were delayed .
