Salaš u Bregu in Cheile Carasului

A piece of heaven on earth.

I absolutely loved this place! We stayed for 2 nights in September. When we arrived, I thought we had landed in heaven. The place is surrounded by an orchard, and everything was green. The interior is rustic and so beautiful. The owners are amazing people, so very nice and welcoming. If all owners were like this, the world would be a better place. This is the perfect place to spend the summer vacation. I can't wait to go back! The access road is gravel but very good and short. The last section, leading down to the Salas, is grassy and very tricky if the grass is wet. But you can continue on the gravel road and leave the car a bit further down the road. From there you have to walk only 70 meters. This is the perfect place for people who want to be in nature, away from noise. There is no phone reception, but there is wifi if you need it.

I recommend only summer months because in any other season it is too cold inside and you might have problems with not enough hot water. We went in September and we caught a spell of cold weather. Though there is a heating stove, it's too far from the bedroom and it's not enough to make the whole place warm (plus you need to add wood at least every hour). The kitchen area gets very warm and cozy, though.
