Cheap East Knoxville Basement Studio

Simple word the location was okay. It was reasonably clean when I checked in. Parking is easy and near the front door, although the driveway is gravel and there is no signage on the street to tell you it is the property. If the advertised price were correct it would be a reasonable value but it is no better than a moderate priced hotel which of course has daily cleaning. It is reasonably quiet which is something I was looking for. Bed and sofa are comfortable.

I was given an erroneous and untrue total amount to rent the property. It was advertised with a $55 cleaning fee and it is really 170 which they demanded that I pay even though I had already paid the $55 fee. Also there are concrete bags all around the front patio which you can easily trip over. I assume they are there too keep the place from flooding with rain. The water heater sets in the bathroom behind a flimsy wooden panel, and I don't think that meets any type of code since it isn't behind a door. There is no stove as you are led to believe, but simply a hot plate which is very hot when you cook on it. There is no cable as advertised, only Roku for which you need an account.

The place itself was fine, as I knew before I arrived that it was a budget property. It was clean and had everything I needed. It was also quiet which was important to me since I was writing a pharmacy manuscript.

There are three different platforms that make decisions so it's very difficult to communicate. I was misinformed about the cleaning fee which was advertised at booking.com at $55 and when I tried to extend my days reservation I was told that the the cleaning fee was $175 and I would need to pay that. I felt very misled and in some ways suspicious. I had no problem with the booking company except that the cleaning fee when added on to a week's stay changes the price dramatically for the property. I also tried to rebook a reservation when the property is available, but the property management company said my reservation was canceled and gave me no reason other than I had I left issues with the property. Everything was in perfect condition when I left other than a few plates in the sink which I had not had time to wash unfortunately. Other than that I kept the place perfectly clean and zero damages.
