Quinta Do Sol Poente

The views across the ocean from the dinning room and veranda where very nourishing. So a lovely location, the town had nothing to attract us but the island is so full of beautiful nature, hiking, hot springs we were out a lot. Comfortable, warm, well equipped and spacious garden.

The decor was not our flavour but was quirky and different, did not really make much difference to our stay. As the beds were comfortable and again the views. You will need a car for this Island if you want to get to all the places.

To live in a huge old castle with a big garden full of hydrangeas and an amazing view of the ocean!!! The sunsets from the terrace are unforgettable!! The host Elso is super friendly, met us at the house and explained everything. Also told us the history of the house Everything in the house is so authentic. It has everything you might need. Also private parking. We stayed for 5 nights with 3 kids and one small yorkie dog. Great location!! Just 10 min drive to Vista do Rei and Abandoned Hotel Wherever you travel during the day, come back home before the sunset, to enjoy it from the terrace or from kitchen windows!! Amazing property with views you would die for. You can literally watch dolphins from your terrace. We enjoyed every minute here.

Leaving too soon 😒

The location is exceptional, with views over the ocean, 15 minutes from the airport and only 20 minutes to Ponta Delgada or Sete Cidades. Bed linen smelled fresh and the kitchen was well equipped. Lovely gardens with a great balcony to enjoy the sunset over a meal and a glass of wine. The owner, Elso, was superb, nothing was too much trouble.

Whilst it was not a continuous noise, locals on their early morning commute did speed past the house, which could be heard in the front bedroom.

The view from the diningroom is fantastic. The rainshowers in the two bathrooms were very nice. The kitchen was well equiped and has a large fridge. The bedrooms are large and cosy decorated. The house is 13 minutes drive from Ponta Delgada and 15 minutes drive from Sete Cidades. Don't forget to go to Ponta da Ferraria. You can swim in warm water there and the views are magnificent. The kids loved the canyoning tour in the north of San Miguel.

Nothing. We loved the house and the terasses outside. The onwer Elso and his family is very nice and talkative.

Spending a week in this amazing house, we have enjoyed our visit at Sao Miguel to the most! The house did not only offer us a place tp sleep but to admire the breathtaking view over the ocean every day. Further than that the house is decorated lovely an very clean.

If you will find a point to this wonderfol house.........The house is situated on the street to the village Fereiras,but is fully orientated the the sea. During the night some cars use this street. So if you are sensitive of traffic noise and want to sleep with open windows you should take the sleeping room to the sea.
