Quinta da Estrela

Met the host right outside and she took us on a little tour around the area, showed us the bar area, pool & jacuzzi and then walked us up to our place. The morning views were absolutely breathtaking. The hosts made sure we had it all. The bed was so comfortable, I literally felt like I was sleeping on a cloud. The peace you get up there is magical, perfect to just chill and relax and escape the city life. I booked 50mins away from where I actually needed to be just because of how beautifully designed the interior of the houses were and of course the biggest reason was the landscape, you can't beat it in my opinion. The sunrise was amazing to watch, didn't experience sunset because we arrived too late but the stars in the night sky were beautiful! We also had more than the basics in the house, things like olive oil, salt and pepper, which came in handy for us, more seasoning to cook a whole meal. This saved us money because we usually have breakfast where we stay, so not having to spend on things like that is a great help also not just because of the money but only 3 days it would go to waste!! They had shampoo and shower gel. Although we had our own shower gel, the shampoo came in handy after the jacuzzi. Jacuzzi was clean and super warm, we popped the children in bed and had a little time to ourselves and that's when we had the most spectacular view of the stars! The host sends info on where to eat, places to visit etc this is actually very helpful! We also had bread being delivered on one of the days we stayed so also had some delicious fresh bread on Saturday morning. One of the things that I found very considerable was arriving and the place being warm. The host turned on the heating to warm it up before our arrival. I can't remember the hosts real name as it was hard to pronounce but will remember her as Sarinha & Little Sara and her partner Tim. Thank you for having us!

I can't fault anything.

Location was great, easy to access, house was exactly as advertised and more with great welcome and very easy communication with hosts. Hot tub was clean and located perfectly to watch sun set. Kitchen well equipped with welcome basics like spices olive oil and coffee ground. Great convenience with side pool bar where we could purchase drinks and reasonable price. Pretty walks around the Quinta too. All in all we really recommend as a perfect spot to stay over.

A vista panorâmica para a Serra da Estrela mesmo em frente à casa é fenomenal, com ou sem neve. Sentimo-nos na natureza, no meio dos granitos em redor do alojamento mas a propriedade está muito bem cuidada para receber hóspedes que vão à procura de descanso e conexão com a natureza. O anfitrião conseguiu ser muito amável e simultaneamente respeitador da nossa privacidade.

Hostes are very nice and amazing. Always ready to help when needed. The place is amazing and the views are wonderful. Would stay again for sure!

The place is surreal, with a captivating view and enough space for the children to play, walk and experience memorable family moments. Not to mention, it's very romantic for couples to go for a walk or date at sunrise and sunset on top of the abundant stones on the property. The village where the property is located is equally pleasant, with amiable people who made our stay memorable. As well as being a wonderful place, the property is close to several beautiful spots and locations in the Serra da Estrela. A 7-minute drive away, you'll find the river beach on the River Mondego, a beautiful place to stay, camp or relax; a few minutes away, you can visit various villages and tourist towns such as Gouveia and Seia and live a unique and pleasant experience. We couldn't fail to thank Tim and Saarge, the owners of Quinta da Estrela. They were very friendly and welcoming, always ready to support us, including surprising us by decorating the house for our son, who was celebrating his birthday; we couldn't have been luckier to find such friendly people to make our stay memorable.

There was a lack of previous information about the potential of the site and its surroundings, which could have helped us plan better. However, the surprise of discovering a charm beyond what was expected was equally pleasant.

Everything, from the environment to the cozy chalet and wonderful hosts, we felt we had everything we needed to enjoy a peaceful family retreat. Thank you Saartje and Tim for welcoming us.

Cute small cottage with the basics. We traveled throughout Portugal and fell that perhaps cottage needs some upgrading to meet standards this price point.
