The Great Kona Escape

Loved having a kitchen & being able to cook breakfast in the morning. Was nice to be able to have anything in Sandra's garden. I was able to pick a fresh papaya from a tree & eat it. Bed & sofa was all comfy. Had beach chairs sun, umbrella, boggie boards & noodles to use. Also nice to have a drying rack & detergent to wash clothes. Sandra's was a warm & welcoming host with great suggestions of what to visit. There was also Big Island Guide Books and a binder with suggestions for restaurants, beaches, snorkling etc which was helpful. Thoroughly enjoyed staying in a quiet neighborhood.

広いハワイ島の中で、スーパーへの買い出しや空港へのアクセスが便利で、気候の良いロケーションであった。 オーナーのサンドラさんの人柄が素敵だった。

部屋が海と反対側だったので、ホテルで言えばパーシャルオーシャンビューという感じだった。 ベランダから海を眺めながらコーヒーを飲む、ということはできなかった。 キッチンを照らす灯りが点灯しなかった。

Beautiful surroundings and rental, clean, well equipped, and just as advertised. Friendly, generous and gracious host - we felt so welcome and relaxed, as if we were at home. So peaceful and yet so close to everything we wanted to do on the Big Island. When we come back, we will simply stay here and use tour group outings to venture out if going any considerable distance (Volcano, Mauna Kea). The Great Kona Escape is a phenomenal home base for anything you might want to do. thanks so much!

It’s a spacious and quiet place. We watched sunset when we first arrived. I loved the lights, furniture and decoration, simple and special. The garden has such variety of plants and flowers. A good collection of books as well. I enjoyed reading Joseph Campbell on the beach. The cat is cute too

I’d prefer a harder mattress. But for people who are used to the soft ones, it wouldn’t be a problem

Absolutely everything. This property is a piece of heaven on earth. We like the location it’s very safe, plus it has ocean view, a lot’s of fruit trees, swings, and private parking. Sandra went above and beyond to make us feel comfortable and gave us everything we needed. If you rent this property I guarantee you’ll enjoy this property and will want to come again. Thank you Sandra for your well done job in being so generous, efficient, and loving person.

The property was well maintained and well stocked. We even had a bowl of local fruit waiting for us!

The walls are pretty thin, we were able to hear guests in the next unit doing laundry or playing music. However, this was never a problem as everything was at a low volume and we were never interrupted during quiet hours.
