Casas do Porto - Azalea and Hortênsia

The location was fantastic - the view from the front terrace was breathtaking. We sat there most of the time. It was nice to have loungers at the back too for a bit of privacy. The apartment was within walking distance of beaches. Pools and restaurants and there was a well supplied little shop too. The air conditioning was efficient, but we didn’t really need it much as the temperatures were pleasant at night. The local people were very friendly and welcoming and would stop to chat in the mornings while we were having breakfast on the terrace.

The beds were very uncomfortable - the one in the main bedroom was very hard and the twin beds were not much better - we tried them all! The soft furnishings downstairs were not very comfortable for lounging either, but we didn’t spend much time inside. There wasn’t much privacy either as the front terraces of the villas were side by side with shared access to the street. We enjoyed our week as the family staying next door were very respectful, but it could easily have been different if the neighbours had been noisier or more intrusive.

Location and quiet.

We enjoyed our stay very much, the house was spacious for 3 people and clean. The kitchen had everything you need. There was also firewood for the stove, napkins and toilet paper, it was great not to have to buy everything straight away. We had very nice sunny weather almost the whole week and could enjoy every morning the breakfast on the terrace with the beautiful view of the ocean. We are especially grateful for the nice contact with Azorean Butler Samuel, for his help and snacks, as we arrived late on the first day.

Good location in the village. The view to the sea was great.

The heating did not work properly but the little additional electric batteries were efficient. They offered to come to check but I did not want to be disturbed.

The location of the house is just perfect! The neighborhood is very nice, it was great get to know the people and the community too. The hause is cofortable and clean and the communication of the hause was also very good.

The little pice of metal in the middle of the entrance gate cut our cars weel.

Spacious and clean apartment with everything we needed. Great towels!! Lovely view out over the bay. Two small supermarkets in the village. A bakery at top of the road past the church. Several restaurants within an easy walk - Americo do Barbosa was excellent. Whale watching trip out from far side of the bay was well worth it - very informative. Samuel was easy to contact and very helpful.

We love snorkelling - it was possible in the bay, with lots of fish, but rocky and quite shallow.

quiet place, nice spacious house, clean, with equipment, comfortable beds.
