Vivenda Portela

Carminda has a beautiful place in Covelinhas, with a magical view of Douro river! The location is fantastic & the house was well equipped with what one would require.

Our family loved the place & one needs a car, as the house is about a half hour drive from Peso de Regua.

Sometimes you find a property where a 10 rating doesn’t seem high enough. Vivenda Portela is one of those gems. The views from the various outdoor balconies and terraces are postcard perfect. The private pool was a welcome spot to cool down in the hot afternoons. There is so much space to spread out and relax. The kitchen is a dream to cook in with every facility you require. From our comfortable bed we could open the windows and watch boats drift up and down the Douro. Make sure you bring your food in as there are only limited local food options. This is not a problem though as you won’t want to leave the house! Yes the drive in is on a narrow road - just take your time, you will be fine.

Beautiful location and very peaceful.

Without a car, you need to be organized and understand the train times. But that was not a problem.

The view of the house is so good. We have everything we need in the house. Communication without any problems with the host.

The road to the house is narrow. You have to driver very focus and carefully. However, i have to tell that the scenery is really stunning.

I have no words to describe how well equipped this house is. Everything you can imagine and much more. Very cozy, comfortable, without neighbors and with a stunning view right on the river. Communication with the owner is easy and pleasant.

We loved it because it was located close to the Quintas we wanted to visit. Driving in the Douro is not for the faint of heart so this was the perfect location. The stand alone home has all amenities and feels like a stone’s throw from the river. The view is spectacular up and down the river looking South! Great kitchen, clean property. The only glitch may be the parking. We, luckily, had a little Fiat and parked it well against the hill side of the road which worked. If you require anything, the owner texted back almost immediately!

Vivenda Portela manages to achieve the perfect combination of being spacious, spotlessly clean and cozy. It's a great place to spend a peaceful few days and explore the Douro Valley. Beautiful views, the perfect, secluded verandah, and everything you need to be self-sufficient and prepare meals at home. We were only two people but the house could easily and comfortably accommodate two couples or a family. Communications before and during our stay we're always quick, friendly and helpful.

We were travelling by train and it's quite a steep 20+ minute walk up the hill from the station. It's not a problem for many, but something to be aware of when booking.

great spacious house with everything you need! we really enjoyed our stay here. the place was homely, modern and really nice.
