Quinta de Sao Carlos

The house has a good location, good bones, is very spacious, has a lot of natural lighting, and a nice view from the terrace and the kitchen but unfortunately, the owners haven't taken advantage of it. The bedding was clean and we had two sets of clean towels. I liked the furniture and the decor of the rooms.

We were expecting an old house from the photos we had seen but we were also expecting it to be clean. We had to clean the dishes and everything we needed in the kitchen on arrival before using them. The kitchen smelled musty. There are a lot of small kitchen appliances like a microwave, a sandwich maker, and a toaster that were also dirty and with rests of food. There were spiders and spider webs in every room of the house. The shower drain was clogged and there was no shower gel or shampoo available. There was no hot water on arrival and we had to fix the thermos ourselves. The pillows were too stiff and not comfortable at all. The rooms facing the street had a lot of noise as there are cars passing all the time and there is no isolation. This house could be a great place to stay in Terceira with a few modifications and a lot more cleaning but in its current state, I would not recommend it unfortunately.
