Casa da Levada

Lots of space, very clean, 2 bathrooms, great outdoor courtyard.

Could not use the outdoor courtyard space due to barking dogs living next door that would be set off by any sound including unlocking the door to the courtyard or normal level talking. They barked from 8 am until late in the evening. This was unfortunate as it would have been an ideal place to enjoy a meal or relax at the end of the day.

Casa da Levada was a great holiday house for our week long stay in Sao Miguel. Two small rooms on the ground floor and two bigger rooms on the 1st floor (one room with en suite bathroom) are spacious and have very comfortable beds. The kitchen has everything you need (incl. kitchen towels and dishwasher with tablets and soap, etc.). Plenty of towels. Good wifi. Plenty of parking outside in front of the house. The street is very quiet and the house is just a short walk to the town center, the beach and the supermarket. Great hosts - responsive, easy to communicate with and welcoming.

The owners made the house very comfortable and welcoming but there are a few things that they could not do much about, that could be useful to know: i) the humidity was very high and keeping the clothes dry outside or drying them after washing was very hard (at least in February) but that's how the oceanic climate works, and ii) the neighbour's dogs were very annoying while on the terrace, barking all the time, but luckily the bedrooms face the other side of the house and the dogs were quiet during the night.

The house is very big and had everything needed for our stay. Hosts were very nice and welcoming, we felt at home from the first moment. It was very clean.

The house is a bit humid, if you need to dry your laundry, better go to a laundromat.

The apartment is perfect for a family or a group of friends. It has all the facilities included, the kitchen is just favolous and well equipped, the bathrooms are clean and the beds are super comfortables. But the best of all is Graca's hospitality as she helped us with everything we asked her for, including a problem we had we our rental car company due to a delay of our flight. We will repeat for sure :)
