Casa dos Manos

Spacious, comfortable house with a beautiful view of the valley. The bed was just the right firmness and nights were always quiet for sleeping. The kitchen is fully equipped for cooking and the washer works perfectly. Also there is great TV and WIFI reception. Planning to stay here again soon.

All was great. It can be a bit cloudy and rainy but that's the Azores.

The house was in a good location in Furnas close to many restaurants and shops with a few minutes drive. The house was decently clean and the dishwasher and washing machine was very convenient.

There were many many flies and bugs in the house because the doors and windows don't have screens. This might have been ok if there were fans in the house so we can close the windows at night but since there were none, you had to choose either being really hot inside or open the windows and let all the flies and bugs into the house and bite you all night. Also, the bed and sheets was always feeling moist from the humiditiy in Azores. The beds were really uncomfortable and all of these problems caused sleeping at night to be extremely difficult. Also be warned there is no house number outside, so finding it can be challenging and it is on the top of a hill.

Location. Up a steep hill but not an issue. Close enough to walk if fit!

Next door is currently being built but not that big a deal as the workers were not there on the Sunday. Once the building has been finished would be better.

Lovely chalet just outside of the town. It was a great place to relax and 15 - 20 walk to restaurants cafés etc. Far enough away not to smell the caldeiras! A fab outside space where we spent the evenings relaxing after exploring the town and lake. Views were over the fields and beautiful at night when you could see the steam from the caldeiras in the distance. Inside was well thought out, fab shower, comfy beds, rocking chairs and lots of cooking utensils. Max really has thought of everything to equip for a holiday. It would be suitable for a family of 4 or a couple as there are 2 double rooms. We could easily have stayed for longer. When we couldn't work the coffee machine he immediately offered to fix it or buy a new one which we were very grateful for. We hope to be back soon!

We had quite a few flies but that is to be expected in the countryside in summer so not an issue.

We loved our stay here. What a wonderful location! Everything you need was in the house! The terrace was amazing.

Very clean!!!! Well set up!!!! Just like at home!!!!

More details on location/tips on using GPS (it leads you to a different place and numbers on the houses are not straightforward), would be helpful
