Lake Whitney Log Cabin

The cabin was lovely. Very quit & peaceful stay.

The a/c couldn’t keep up with this Texas heat so I would recommend going in spring or late fall.

It’s in a neighborhood and I don’t think the neighbors like vacationers on their street. We tried really hard to be quiet and good neighbors but they still complained. I was very stressed the entire time because I was worried we would bother them. It’s still a very peaceful place to relax and the host was very nice.

Helpful and kind neighbors

Not safe for boats. Property was not clean. Dirty dishes (cups, plates, bowls) in the cabinets Sticky, dirty silverware; dirty silverware drawer Rusty old pots and pans no good cookie sheet for biscuits Coffee pot had old grounds with mold growing Tight kitchen space without pantry for your chips etc Only one trash bag for 6 days 3 rolls of toilet paper for 6 days No welcome note/gift Host’s folder lacks important info (emergency services/hospital/urgent care) White animal hair on sofa Porch furniture covered in heavy layer of dirt No sheets on one bed Dirty sheets on upstairs beds Mismatched sheets on master bed (twin top sheet on queen bed) Mold on shower curtain The road is not safe getting to the home or the boat ramp. Road is narrow (single lane) and not paved (it’s a dirt road with washed out loose gravel) on a downhill grade. Washed out road dead ends at the property. Nowhere to turn around. Dangerous roads getting to the ramp too. Our trailer was damaged. At the end of your stay, host instructs you to take out the trash put new liners in (the neighbor got us trash bags etc) Hosts final instruction: if the trash bins are full, “take your trash home with you” Post is very misleading. It was very dirty. It’s not safe for boats or jet skis. Conditions have been reported to Booking.com.
