Flying Point Homestead

Remoteness (not for everyone), end of the line feel. Overlooks the mountains with town lights on the low horizon. Quiet, peaceful. Good place to work. A rustic cabin feel with nice artifacts but extremely functional. A shortish drive to Joshua Tree NP. A good place to sit out the heat of the day before exploring late afternoon. Short section of unsealed section of road but this was not a problem, at least this time of year (summer). Host very attentive and available. Will book again if I return.

We loved the fresh eggs. The location worked well for us, easy access to Joshua Tree Park. It was quiet and private and kitchen was well stocked. Patricia was very friendly and communicated well with us when we had questions. It was great that we could bring our dog. We spent the majority of our time outside - ate outside, played board games at night outside, two of us slept outside.

No complaints

Quiet, very eclectic lodging. Close to Joshua tree. Kitchen was fully equipped. Enjoyed all the reading material available and the fact that there was no tv. Very peaceful and enjoyable.

Some ants did appear climbing up the wall side of the bed from the dust ruffle. Bed could have been more comfortable.

Stayed in the "Silver Streak" RV/trailer at Flying Point Homestead for a recent trip to Joshua Tree National Park. Everything was just as described and the interior of the RV was better than expected! Just enough space for two people to relax and sit down, eat & sleep together, and even use the tiny bathroom at the same time. A very nice place that was remote and felt "outside" while also providing a comfortable interior space in the RV. The wi-fi was also very functional and fast, which was a major plus because I didn't get a cell signal due to the remoteness of the property. Not too far from Joshua Tree National Park either - it was maybe about 30 minutes to either the west or north entrances to the park. If you're looking for a place to stay at that provides basic comforts while still feeling like a getaway vacation in a desert (because that's what the area around Joshua Tree National Park basically is) and want to be able to enjoy being in a remote & secluded place outdoors (i.e. sitting down outside enjoying the view with the sun going down over the distant mountains, and maybe being able to catch wild animals scurrying about), then this is THE place to stay at.

The only minor complaint I had was that the space around the toilet in the RV was a bit small and cramped, and probably too cramped for (ahem) larger or tall (over about 5'8") people to be able to sit down on. Just something to be aware of - would probably need to book one of the other spaces that accommodate more people if that might be an issue.

It’s close to Joshua Tree Park

This was a prefect place in a perfect location. We wish that we could have stayed for longer.
