Atlantis Country House

the ocean view is fantastic, great to watch sunset t the evening, comfortable beds and sofa, good wifi, very helpful owner, close to Amanhecer market and Naye pizzeria, Pingo in Calheta is very overcrowded and has very bad parking house, house is close to Rabacal (many levadas) and Funchal, we enjoyed the stay, it was overall amazing

few things to improve - very small TV, some equipment missing (no washing machine powder, no coffe machine capsules, no shower gel or shampoo, no antimosquito liquid) can be far from eastern sights like Santana, Levada Caldeira, Pico Ruivo no aircondition - was very hot in august, can be ok other months you have to get used to rooster sound 24/7, we had no problem :)

We enjoyed our stay at the country house. As the name says the house is an old farm house that has been renovated, which gives it a lot of character. The terrace gives you a view over the sea. We specifically enjoyed the BBQ and the dinner on the terrace. The house itself is very clean and cozy. The more remote location gives you the feeling of being completely alone. As the place is an old farm house and the neighbours are still farmers, there are animals around, like dogs, cats and chickens. You can hear the rooster and the cats might sit in front of the door (I guess some people feed them), but it did not bother us. Also the neighbours are friendly, greeting us when we saw them.

Some equipment is a bit old, like the BBQ or pans and pots. They are still good to be used for cooking, but if some equipment would be replaced, it would make it more comfortable, especially the BBQ.

Beautiful view at the ocean and really clean house. We really enjoyed our stay and grilling with an ocean view. The owner was really friendly and patient when we arrived a little to late. The neighboring old lady was also really friendly and even gave us some food as a gift.

We had a wonderful stay at this accommodation. The location is fantastic and we were very impressed with the view. The Hous is very well equipped and the communication with the hoste was very good. We really recommend it and hope to come back again.

It is difficult to get into the house. Street parking is far away, uncomfortable stairs. Henhouse next to the entrance. Garden is small and dirty from the many cats... The kitchen equipment is old and worn out

There is no better view than at Atlantis Country House! The location is central on Madeira and the center of Calheta is a 5-minute drive. The apartment is nice and cozy furnished. It's a shame we were both sick; During our stay in our previous apartment we got a stomach flu. So we were actually 'stuck' in paradise during our stay at Atlantis Country House. The owner was kind enough to drop off groceries (and toilet paper;-) because we were too sick to drive to the center of Calheta. It was a great place to be stuck, but of course it would have been much better if we had been able to see more of Madeira. Fortunately, we have already been there 7 times and had already seen most of it.

The TV could have been bigger... Since we unfortunately had to spend a lot of time indoors because we were sick, a larger TV would have been great! The accommodation is not suitable for people with mobility problems because of the stairs to get there. But as far as we are concerned, Madeira is not suitable for anyone who has walking difficulties. We can recommend this place to anyone, fit enough to climb a few stairs! It was perfect! You can even spot dolphins from the terrace, so bring you binoculars!!!

I cannot imagine a person who wouldnt like this appartment! When we came, we were not feeling quite well, but I think this small house on the top of the mountain and with ocean beneath our feet solved all issues :) You can stay there in any time of the year because there is a nice terrace outside, but also the house has all front windows to be opened widly if you want. So either inside, or outside you can still enjoy the same great ocean! Inside you will find everything you need, we didnt miss anything from kitchen, bathroom or bedroom. And the host - they are amazing! So helpful and kind, thats how you would expect to be greeted abroad. Thank you for a wonderful stay, we will be back here for sure :)
