Casa da Ria Formosa

We loved the property location being near to the water, the grocery, Baria and the Algarve Forum mall. We also enjoyed seeing families and others using the area to workout and walk. Our hosts were also outstanding!

This was one of the very best accommodations we stayed in during our trip around Portugal. The premises is a lovely house in front of a really nice open space overlooking the marsh. It is very close to the Faro airport. The house is a quaint two bedroom (2storey) beautiful summer house modernly decorated and equipped with everything you might need whilst on holiday. Beds (2single /1 double)are very comfortable. AC in every room. Bathrooms are very clean and one of them has a washer/dryer. The upstairs terrace is amazing. The hosts are extremely nice and very helpful. They responded to our every request quickly and without hesitation. We even met the sweet lady responsible for the cleaning. There’s a daily-needs store very close to the house and it’s a very short drive to the centre.

We only regret we didn’t get to stay longer :)

The host was friendly and went above and beyond to make sure we enjoyed our stay. There was complimentary water, fruit and Portuguese tarts waiting for us on arrival. The house is beautiful with a great terrace

A fabulous small house, neat and beautifully decorated. The bed was probably the most comfortable one I’ve slept on when travelling. Well equipped kitchen and upstairs private sun terrace with a view out to the setting sun and the Parque Natural da Ria Formosa. There is ample free parking within 50m of the front door. The area is generally very quiet with no passing road traffic and it is a short 20 minute walk to the Arco da Vila gate into Faro old town. The host does not live at the property but is very helpful and always responds to messages. There are supermarkets easily accessible nearby including an enormous shopping centre / hypermarket at the Forum Algarve and a Lidl next door to the shopping centre. Both are about a 5 min drive or 15 minute walk away.

The property itself was lovely and the only very small annoyance was the distant noise from the airport. Around 6am each morning as the first passenger jets of the day boosted their engines and started their sprint down Faro airport runway, the noise would wake us up. However, as the week progressed we became more used to it and it didn’t bother us too much. As I said it’s only a small annoyance and I would definitely stay again.

Brilliant spot with everything that we needed. Air conditioning worked well. Small place but perfect for us. Small table outside was great. Bowel of fruit was very nice. Key code worked really well. Little balcony was perfect for the amazing sunset over the airport. Nice and quiet. Walk into town made much easier once we worked out how to ride the public scooters!
