Cabana Daria

The cottage located on top of a hill, wonderful scenery, fresh air and quiet

To give you a clearer picture: 1. The ‘entire house’ that we booked turned out to be only the ground floor of the house (with 3 bedrooms). The cottage has two apartments downstairs and upstairs connected by a staircase in the middle of the living, so we had no privacy considering that other people were also staying at the same time; 2. The road was narrow and difficult, the last 500m on a sloping paved road, there were more then 10 km with no phone signal and no indications to Daria Cottage; 3. There were some problems with the hot water pressure, probably insufficient for the people staying.

We had a wonderful stay! The house is very spacious and has a nice mountain view if you go up the hill behind the cabin. The location in the mountains is perfect for those looking for a calm and serene getaway. We loved the hikes directly from the cottage, and everything we needed was provided. The hosts were very friendly and welcoming, which made our stay even more enjoyable.

Our stay had a few minor issues. The water tasted a bit strange, so we had to filter it, and there was a slight gas smell in the kitchen. Also, sitting outside, the big tree blocked the mountain view. Despite these small inconveniences, the overall experience was still enjoyable.

We had the most beautiful family weekend at Cabana Daria. The location is fantastic, a lovely village away from all the buzz of the skiing resort. Access to Cabana Daria requires tyre snow chains in winter.The road gets regularly cleaned but mother nature can produce too much snow during one night alone, so make sure you have the right equipment. Make sure to save the contact number for the host as there are 10 km while getting closer to the destination where the phone signal is intermittent. The host went beyond any expectations on hospitality and were very helpful throughout our stay. The temperature in the house was perfect and it was kept warm until the early hours of the morning. Previous reviews regarding this are a bit misleading, and the central heating is fueled from outside the building. All our family had so much fun. We were also lucky to have a lot of snow. As the property is positioned high up in the mountains we had the joy of going downhill on our sleighs 🛷 on our own slope in the garden. We appreciate the beautiful lifestyle such a location has to offer and can recommend a visit here in any season.

We couldn’t get to our apartment because of a lot of new snow and we weren’t able to pass the streets. (Travel time mid of November) I asked if we could get a part of the money back, but they couldn’t or didn’t want to. The owners seem to not understand english that’s why our conversation via messages was really messi.

Nice place. Very clean. The host was very nice to us.

The access road is not the best.

Nice surroundings, clean, quiet, well equipped. Host were very nice, they turned on the heating even though we stayed in early september and it wasn't so cold. They also offered us plăcinte. Overall we hâd a pleasant stay.

Road to the property was somewhat difficult.

The location is wonderful with breathtaking views of hills, forests, haystacks as far as the eye can see. The family who own it are incredibly kind and genuinely attentive. Everything is brand new inside the apartment and spotlessly clean. Each of the bedrooms has its own bathroom and a double bed. The rooms upstairs have wonderful views down the valley

The WiFi was really bad, if not non existent. We hadn’t realized from the description that the apartment upstairs is connected with the apartment downstairs with a staircase in the middle of the room. This means that you can hear each other talking when having supper and in the evening. If you are both respectful and fairly quiet (and I can imagine that guests choosing this location will be) there will be no problem but it is a good detail to know beforehand. The road mentioned by others is not really a problem.
