Moya Cottage

The cottage had everything we needed for our one-night stay.

Location, relatively quiet

If you are travelling alone, there’s no way you can keep the gate open and drive through simultaneously. The gate swings right back. Kettle still had water when we checked in. Crockery were dusty. The kitchen tap leaks and you can hear the dripping sound through the night. Found bottled water under the sink and were momentarily happy. Turned out they were unsealed. No materials were provided to help get the fireplace going. Which was a bummer cos the heater in the living area is broken. We spent most of the time in the bedroom as that was the only place that could warm up. House is pretty run down. Cupboards falling apart, walls cracked and paint coming off. The taps in the kitchen and toilet take a long time to heat up.

The cottage needs some tender loving care and redecorating and modernising throughout. It was very cold in the evenings, overnight and in the mornings, so some heaters were needed! We bought wood each day from the Spar supermarket to light the fire in the evening to keep warm. The pillows need replacing as they were lumpy. There was no WiFi, which is essential these days!

couches are old and uncomfortable no DsTv or WiFi . no tv to watch or radio no firewood supplied very old stove no coffee or bottled water even for the first day neighbourhood seemed dodgy , and we don’t know how the alarm works. was a bit scary being there with my children . grass is very long and unkept

Poor maintenance of house and garden. Shower and walls needs a good clean. No ceiling fans or even a loose standing fan was available.
