Dorset Cottage

I enjoyed my time at Dorset Cottage very much. Apart from the occasional bird cry, it is very quiet. I was a solo visitor and enjoyed the comfortable space including the main bedroom. The second bed is on a mezzanine level above the main bed, maybe suitable for children more than adults. The immediate area is smart and secure, I made a couple of early evening excursions on foot to the main DiepRivver road to find meals which worked out fine. Perhaps be cautious later at night. The WiFi was ok, not a strong signal. Currently Cape Town is suffering rolling power cuts, the lovely hosts Roger and Jane provide rechargeable battery lights and a flask that you can fill with hot water when the power is on.

Just a small point, a thin summer duvet was on the bed which was great the first couple of nights, then it got warmer so just a sheet would have been nice. Such a minor issue that I never requested it, so just a suggestion.

We received a warm welcome from Roger and his family. They were very hospitable and went out of the way to ensure that our 12 year old son (with autism) was comfortable. The apartment is well equipped and more spacious than it looks on the photos. We particularly enjoyed the privacy and the fact that we had exclusive access to the swimming pool. Best value I have seen for a cottage with a pool in Cape Town! We will definitely be back!

Access to second bedroom is via the main bedroom. My son loved the loft though. It was super safe and is a fun setting for tweener!

spacious and private place. The owners allowed me to go and come as I please with gate access. provided milk and water. in the fridge.

shower is a bit small. would only fit one person comfortably. the shower water pressure was a bit low but I guess it’s because of the shower head optimised for saving water.

Everything was perfect.we enjoyed our stay,was peaceful and quiet.

The tv was too small an upgrade will be appreciated
