Sanctuary

It was our second time visiting this property. To our dissapointment, you could hear during the night the water dripping from the roof which made sleep a lot less. The whole Saturday and Sunday there where people cutting trees two houses down, which made a peaceful getaway, very disruptive. The power was off from Saturday night 22:00 and was still off by the time we left on Monday 10:30. There was no follow-up to ask us of the power is on, or trying to make a plan to supply us with a generator or something. We travelled with a child, which made this long power outage quite challenging. The whole towns water was also off the Sunday. This is all good and well, but how long can one go on without water and electricity? We had to follow uo the whole time about the power situation. The house only offers a gas heater, candles and some battery opperated lights.

The location. The house is super spacious. Best view down the valley. Pet Friendly. Wow

The house itself is well built and well laid out. Liked the security shutters, the upstairs suite, the patio and that we could bring our dog. Appreciated the dishwasher and tumble drier.

Well, this isn't a criticism, but I feel the owners should keep their hand on the property. The rental agents only clean on the surface. And I'm going to mention this because of the price I paid for theweekend. Sadly, little things are being missed, such as the side tables and lamps in the main bedroom need re-surfacing. The lamp shades are stained and shabby. There is mould on the wall in the shower and the shower curtain. The bathroom drains are blocked. The carpet in the dining area is torn. The upstairs suite had not been cleaned in a long time. There were spider webs in the roof beams and on the walls. Dead bugs everywhere. Come on, owners, this is your investment. Don't leave it in the hands of others!

Comfortable and spacious. Loved the coffee machine and the throw-blankets for keeping warm.

Well situated quiet and peaceful setting and only a short walk to the Dullstroom Inn and the main road

No basic ammenities, such as soap or gel or shampoo.No wifi. A few sachets of coffee tea cremora would have made a difference and not broken the bank. Toilet paper:cheap substandard rolls.
