Hakuna Matata Game Farm

3* accommodation but a 5* experience. The view overlooking the waterhole, seeing the various game visiting it and grazing was fabulous. We had the 2 bedroom for just 2 of us but for 2 couples sharing it'd be perfect as the bedrooms are separate, one "in" the home, the other attached. We spent most of the time on the deck though or in the wood fired hot tub, which was a lovely relaxing experience both in the day and in the evening. We also went out on the (extra cost) game drive, which was informative and nice to meet the husband (or staff, as we jokingly referred to him as) Although everything is there to self cater, we chose to eat out most nights and there are a few options, 10 to 15 minutes drive away. Finally, we were granted a late check out which really helped us in our onward journey and meant we were able to enjoy another morning on the deck admiring the view.

The lodge sits on the edge of the watering hole with a variety of animals visiting daily. The property is very well equipped, with a wood fired hot tub for a relaxing end to the day. The game drive with Paul made our stay.

The owners are very friendly and happy to help with anything you need. The place is beautiful and overlooks the water where you can see some of the animals come down to drink. The place is well equipped and they even gave us a bottle of wine on arrival which was a nice touch. Lovely and quiet, great for a relaxing stay. Would recommend the game drive to learn about the farm and what they do there.

Although beautiful, I don’t think we had the best view from our cottage. We were in the last cottage in the corner and most of the time the animals were on the grass and because of our position we couldn’t see them from where we were. Would recommend asking for a different one if you stay.
