The Secret Garden Hideaway in Knysna!

Des couvertures supplémentaires pour la chambre 2 auraient été appréciables car il faisait très froid. Nous avons eu quelques difficultés à gérer l'alarme de la cour extérieure mais le personnel de sécurité était compréhensif. Elmo était très réactif.

Central location. The lounge was very comfortable and tastefully decorated. Style of the house.

One bathroom for up to 6 people we felt was inadequate. The other "bathroom" was actually just a toilet with a tiny sink Very small parking area and disappointing garden. Although the property is dog friendly,pet owners should note that the bars in the whole of the Garden route do not allow dogs, even if there is an open outside area. So a beer whilst out walking with your dog is out of the question.

Beautiful and large place, with everything you need. Very central in Knysna, 3min walk from the shops and 15min walk to the Waterfront. Our Dachshund loved the big garden.

A lovely old period property with high ceilings and lovely wooden floors - a roomy house suitable for group stays - plenty of space outside on the wraparound verandah and the mature garden at the back which was great for our ‘braai’. The host, Elmo, was a pleasure to deal with - very welcoming and helpful.

Alarm system a bit tricky but the very pleasant security staff were there promptly when we had accidentally set it off - actually reassuring to know that they would respond quickly if there was an issue!

It’s a huge place in the middle if town and a great base for exploring the area. They have all the facilities here to make it a comfortable stay.

Location is close to shops and easy to drive out to reach nearby beaches like Knysna, Mosselbay and Platenburg bay. Very spacious house, secured with parking inside the yard to fit two cars. Enough space for 2 couples and adult. Has braai stand, and great backyard to relax under umbrella. Kitchen has all the utensils including enough pots, pans and cutlery. The cleanness wowed us.! They had white linen which is always a great indication of the cleanness. The owner was contactable at all times when needed, also gave us sufficient information via WhatsApp to make our stay pleasant.

The towels did not smell clean although they appeared washed, could be moisture from storage place. They were also not sufficient for 3nights. consider white towels or light grey rather than maroon. There is only one bath with an overhead shower, which caused us to queue for bathing and created unnecessary delays. Consider adding a shower in an area which has toilet only. Photos on the website undersell your property.
