Vivere

Returned from a family celebratory stay at Vivere and WOW! The house exceeded all our expectations in terms of size, location and facilities. Every room is absolutely stunning with enough living space and equipment to allow all 11 of us to live in absolute comfort for the week(kids included). The house is immaculate, many thanks to Gerald for that and everything else he done for us during our stay. Location wise, you couldn't pick a better spot for exploring Hermanus being only a short 5min walk to restaurants, shops, and amazing scenery. Absolutely recommend Vivere to anyone reading these reviews. Book and you won't regret! I hope my family will return in the not too distant future. It was perfect Thank you so much Margot

Beautiful house with excellent amenities.

Absolutely perfect place to stay. Cannot fault it in any way. Pretty much the best place we have ever stayed on holiday.

Nothing

Fantastic, large property. Multiple different spaces - large enough for the whole group to be together, but also allowing plenty of options for people to spend time in separate areas. Very well kitted out - the kitchen was fantastic and had everything you could want to be able to cook at home. Bathrooms are large and modern. Very toasty communal area (kitchen/sunroom) with wood burning stove. The owner was extremely responsive and the onsite manager the same. Easy walking distance into town.

Some people found the bedrooms and bathrooms chilly.

Vivere is walking distance to the town centre and shops, cafes, etc. The location is fairly quiet though there was a new home being built at the bottom of the garden and during weekday working hours this generated constant noise and intermittent lorries and cement mixing disturbance. The house is vast and lovely, beautifully furnished and decorated. There is no shortage of equipment for self catering The 4 day housekeeper kept to himself and did the basics. Louise, who came in on hs day off, was a little trojan, completing many of the maintenance tasks.

The pool was not usable on arrival, being green with algae, despite the housekeeper telling us the house had been used the previous week and was 'alright then'. After 2-3 days and visits from the pool maintenance firm's owner, it was finally cleaned and the Ph balanced and remained clean and clear for the rest of our 14 day stay. The water was never particularly warm so spending time in the pol for physio was a chore, not a pleasure. The pool gets sun most of the day but there are only 2 loungers as shown i the photographs. There are also only 2 comfortable chairs for sitting outside. However, the house can accommodate 10. Not sure where they'd sit outside.

Stunning property in an excellent location. Very spacious and an ideal holiday place with family or friends. Easy 10 minute walk to restaurants and shops. Gerald is a lovely guy, and very helpful if needed.

Nothing

The most sublime house, genuinely we was blown away by how beautiful it was. Its one of the very few places in life you will stay that looks even better in real life than the promotional photos show. It’s a massive house and we spent the time planning to come back with our family. Truly grateful to this family for allowing us to stay in their home. Don’t hesitate to book this house if you’re staying in Hermanus.
