Amazing Beach House in Melkbos!

Beautiful property a short walk from the beach. Safe & quiet neighbourhood. Loved the large open space & view of the ocean. Loved our stay.

The property was absolutely stunning and super clean. We were a little cold initially but the fireplace quickly got us warm, in the dining room area.

Please consider putting electric blankets or thick blankets during winter as it was very cold in the rooms

House was clean and well equipped.

Garden needs attention, outside of the house needs work. Plumbing needs attention. Electricity was cut off while we were there🤦‍♀️ Info book is very misleading-Netflix is not ready to go and the alarm system doesn’t work.

Beach was nice.

Upon arrival, we struggled to get hold of the owner to find out how to get the keys. The garden was unkept, weeds growing everywhere, long grass with dog poo in the garden. There was a used earbud in the driveway. There were cobwebs in the bedroom and bathroom, the shower floor was filthy. The toilet PLUNGERS were left in the bathrooms, with one actually having brown marks. There was a bag for firewood for the fireplace, but the bag was empty. The bedding is worn, the duvet inner had spots where there was no inner left. The blinds hadn't been cleaned and on day two there were about 200 flies on all the blinds where the eggs had hatched. The unit sleeps 6 people, yet there was only a 2 slice toaster, which only toasted one side at a time. The welcome book had details for the alarm, which didn't work as when the instructions were followed, it opened up the main gate. The book also referred to 2018. The access gate to get to the beach, enters someone else's property, and the access gate cannot lock from the other side.
