The Hayloft by Black Door Stays

So cosy and comfortable perfect location in a quiet, sleepy village just 20 minutes away from the centre of Bath. The cottage was spotlessly clean and had everything we could have asked for!

Everything nothing

The location was beautiful and very close to Bath. The building was private from public areas and very comfortable. The kitchen was very well equipped. The hosts were exceptionally polite, attentive, and responded to all contact immediately.

The bed is much too narrow to sleep well. There is no closet space to store some clothes, etc. There are not enough pans in the kitchen to cook properly. The sofa is not really nice to laze on with the two of you. You are not really private on the terrace, you are sitting in front of the house and within sight of the owners. In the morning there is a lot of traffic and noice from the local road which is direct next to the house.

Good for a weekend break. A short drive to Bath park and ride, nice village pub with good food. Very clean accommodation, comfy bed, plenty of hot water. Good to have a slimline dishwasher in addition to hob, oven, microwave, fridge and ice box. Cute and cosy.

A little too small for a longer stay as no storage for clothes. A few minor improvements would benefit. Light strip under the kitchen cupboards needs properly fixing as they kept falling off at one end. The oven functions didn’t seem to marry up with the correct symbols which was confusing and could do with some saucepans as only one small casserole style pan. Parking was meant to be on the road, which is narrow and on the brow of a hill, not ideal and not omitted from the travel instructions. We were able to park in the driveway of another property that the owner has purchased but this would not always be the case. These things didn’t detract from what was an otherwise lovely weekend.
