Carr’s cottage Eyam Peak District,

It was clean and within Eyam so exactly what we needed from that aspect.

Admittedly we hadn’t noticed within the details but we found it strange not having a dishwasher, especially with the kitchen being so small. Surely a dishwasher is more relevant than a washing machine for most visitors? We couldn’t find any kitchen scissors, there was only one oven glove and the kitchen knives were all large, not suitable for paring vegetables. We also found it uncomfortable with an unfrosted bathroom window, knowing this looked straight into the hosts’ home. We appreciate the space for sitting outside is very limited - this just didn’t meet our own needs as we like our own company on holiday. We also were under the impression we would have off street parking. Hopefully the details will be updated to advise this is only suitable for small & medium sized vehicles. The hosts’ other holiday cottage guests ended up using this space, practically outside our back door, making the outside seating area feel more like a car park. I’m sure the cottage will suit a lot of visitors but it just didn’t meet what we have come to expect. The hosts were friendly but it was unusual to have them so close - most bookings like this are done remotely with the key safe being the access point.

Very cosy and well set up. Loved the fire. Great host who was available if needed. Great location for accessing the Peak District.

The stairs are quite steep and the bed quite hard to move around which may not suit people who are not very mobile.

Ideally situated, very cosy and comfortable. The host was most helpful and well informed. Cottage was ideally kitted out. Thank you for a lovely stay.

Parking was not the easiest.

Cosy and in a great location for hikes/walks - Including starting at the front door.

Were ok with parking but could see it being an issue - One Neighbour was quite protective. Owner dealt with another issue immediately so that was good.

Brilliant location, good size for 2 people, nice gas burner, amazing shower, comfortable bed, well equipped (kitchen utensils, hand soap, fairy liquid etc)

A seperate toilet would have been handy but not an issue

The cottage was cozy and very well equipped, location is fantastic, the heart of the Peak District, all the natural beauties were max 20mins by car, we had everything,the host was kind and helpful

The fireplace unfortunately was out of order when we been in the cottage, it's just gives an extra warm atmosphere to the cottage, but the host was already work on it, so maybe the next guests will have better luck

Excellent location. Access to walks and fantastic team rooms and pub.
