Nybyggd stuga intill skogsbrynet - New built cottage next to the cowberry forest

The cottage is a simple very modern and comfortable place. Lovely views of forest and snow covered grass garden. It is well equipped and spotlessly clean. The furniture is simple and comfortable. The owners live next door and spoke fluent english and were charming and helpful. Nearby there is a beautiful lake and some really nice old villages and hiking trails. We drove the 3 hours to the Norwegian border through some wonderful snow covered landscape and visited the skiing areas to soak up the winter atmosphere. I recommend this cottage if you want to enjoy the local hikes, lake and villages and also the nice small town of Mora.

Much smaller and compact than expected so felt rather cramped. Ok for a short stay but wouldn’t feel comfortable staying longer as there was very little room or storage space to put things and it also didn’t feel particularly private. We’ve stayed in several accommodations during a long road trip and this was the only one that didn’t provide any basic provisions like tea, coffee, salt or kitchen roll for example. The extensive cleaning procedures were also far too demanding and on a scale not encountered with any other properties we’ve stayed in. When you go away for leisure and relaxation you don’t want to be faced with so much cleaning that it becomes stressful.

The host informed us via e-mail before we arrived on how to enter the cabin. It was super easy and pleasant. The cabin is new, and modern, with nice furniture an outside terrace. It was super clean. Another thing that was helpful was that everything was labeled, so easy to find, and easy to put things back like glassware et cetera. And the view into the forest was lovely. There is a lot of information about the surroundings available in the cabin. Manuals were easy to find. And I liked the personal story of the host about how they moved from Southern Sweden to this area. What is also great is that you're close to town, but also within 1 minute in nature.

We didn't like the long cleaning list on the table upon arrival. I've never seen it this detailed. People are on holiday, we're not hired to work. We have rented many cabins, and I understand not paying extra for the final cleaning (which here was quite a high amount) involves some cleaning, like cleaning floors, emptying trash, bringing the beds to their original state, and doing the dishes. But that's enough. I don't think guests should clean mirrors and other small details they didn't even make dirty. There is also a role for the host. So that's one minor thing I didn't like, I don't think any guest does actually clean the mirrors, but just seeing this long list doesn't give you a holiday feeling. The other thing I did not like was there there was too much inside the cabin. I thought they tried to make it suitable for too many situations. What I mean is this is a small cabin. Nothing wrong with that, but decorate it as a small cabin. It's perfect for couples, couples with 1 child, and two if they're small. But adding a big sleeping sofa to make it 6 person cabin made it full. Even four (larger) people seem cramped. I not image that many people in the small space. A large cabinet in the main bedroom is made so that you can not create a double bed, so you have to sleep separately as a couple, or you can't exit one bed at night. Something smaller would have been better here to create a proper double bed setting with night stands.

Very friendly hosts. New build holidayhome. Kitchen, bathroom and livingroom: all perfect Bedroom with very good mattress, we slept like a baby.
