Quinta dos Viegas

The house. A beautiful traditional Portuguese style with some modern facilities. AC inside. Pool (small, above ground, lovely garden.. shaded areas..hammock. Bus stop and shop 10 minute walk. Restaurant 20 minute walk. Should be listed in information available. One of our party wasn't able to walk well, so lots of money spent on taxis. For the other people in our party, 10 minute walk was no problem.

3 Dogs on site. This didn't take away from the lovely house and gardens, but we think this should be listed in the information given. A really nice family (Antioneta and her family) live in the ajoining house (not listed in information available) and have 2 dogs (restrained) and 1 dog loose who barks a lot at visitors. This should be made known to prospective visitors, because perhaps some people would be afraid of dogs and this would affect their choice to book Quinta dos Viegas. Lots of ants in the bathroom and bedrooms. Don't put anything on the floor! Extractor fan not working above cooker. We cooked most nights and this made the kitchen very smoky. Apart from that....PERFECT!!! Hosts were on site to greet us and drove us to nearest big supermarket to buy supplies the afternoon of our arrival. Very kind. The host family were so nice...Lucia and Sergio and their son and his grandmother. The accommodation is private. However, there is another house next door, so the garden area and pool is shared by other visitors. Faro city is a 10 minute taxi ride, between €7-€9.

We arrived 10 pm and were still met in person by the landlady. Who in addition also bought products for breakfast for us! Very nice and caring!

One needs to be aware that the yard and garden are shared. 3 parties altogether. All kinds of activities going on. If you value privacy high, this is not your place.
