Four Seasons Lodge with Hot Tub

Very clean and big plus great location

There was a bit of flooding out side

the hot tub wasn’t clean that was the only downside everything was lovely

Property location was actually very good, however; the issues we experienced marred this unfortunately, as we had to be moved, which wasn’t ideal at all

Outside of the property, there was an area that was taped off, which had clearly been the case for some time (yellow hazard tape, detailing electrical cabling underneath). This was due to a drainage or sewerage issue, as the pungent smell of faeces was unbearable. It didn’t smell at all when we arrived at 4pm, but by 6pm the ground all outside of the cabin was soaking wet (on one of the hottest days of the year), with the sickening smell that clearly should’ve been contained. We had to have all of the windows and doors closed and lost the use of the hot-tub that we’d paid for, however; even this couldn’t keep the smell out. That, coupled with the heat, made it a difficult evening for my wife and 2 year old daughter, especially as all the reception staff had gone home and all I could do was reach the landline voicemail. The following day, the smell was even worse, with excrement actually floating g outside of the property. The water had now started to encroach on where our car was parked and due to the electrical cabling that was underneath the water area, I didn’t have confidence that my families safety was being looked after, hence I liaised with reception when they opened at 9am. The girl on reception didn’t really grasp the seriousness of what I was detailing until I advised her that if we weren’t moved, we’d be cutting our break short and going home. Thankfully they were able to provide an upgrade for us, but even that had a strong odours smell about it as well. Suffice to say, we won’t be doing back, as we feel the place fell well short of its advertised Prestige status.
