The Dutch House

It was lovely and clean. Beautiful building, and you can see the love and care that's been taken to get it up to high standards. Couldn't wish for a better location. I can imagine it would be lovely to visit around christmas time as it's lovely and cosy.

Should have made it clear where you have to put your rubbish (not our carpark but the next one) that the key code is the same. But it didn't state that anywhere, so because of the rain, we didn't want to stand there trying to figure it out, getting soaked, so we kept all the rubbish inside till the last day. They just need to mention that the code is the same for both carparks. Would make life much easier 😉. The heating was a nightmare, kept coming on at 5 in the morning 21 degrees. Made the whole place creak absolutely bloody scared me to death the first morning. Was far too hot, too. Took some figuring out, but we had to keep changing the times and heat settings every day. The beds were very hard to sleep on. These are small things that could easily be corrected, so there is nothing to really worry about. But I thought it was worth mentioning.

The Dutch House was perfect for our short stay. Beautifully restored, well equipped and comfortable, with a secure parking space right next to it. A couple of minutes walk to York Minster and the city walls, with plenty of bars, cafes and restaurants within easy walking distance. We loved it.

Cosy cottage feel, yet central to York. Very clean, decor was in keeping with the building and excellent communication from host.

Absolutely beautiful place to stay. Everything you need and lots more. Comfortable beds and sofas. Excellent facilities. Perfect location. Could have stayed forever.

It’s very rare that a Holiday Home truly feels like a home and without exception The Dutch House delivers on every level. You can tell that a great deal of love was involved with the restoration of the property, and the Hosts are deservedly very proud of the results. This is truly an exceptional place to stay, very close to all the local attractions with off street parking making a great city break. Everything you need is included for your stay, the beds and furnishings are all fresh and of the highest standard, we will be staying again without question.
