Location, convenience, friendly, self catering facilities

- the bed, I’ve a firm mattress but mattress is too hard for me, had a sore back, and bed is very noisy - dog poop in garden beside sun beds/pool area - dogs nearby barking during night and early morning - bins- we changed them every day as asked as bin is small but still some ants appeared, bins are a bit of a walk away which is fine but we had to buy bin bags

We had an ideal stay at Quinta David. Carina and Daniel both made us feel welcome and provided everything we needed, including extra beach towels since we didn't bring any. The Quinta has a large area which was perfect for our daughter to run around and enjoy the tree swing and the pool. Although not heated, the pool was the perfect temperature in the summer as it is shallow and heats from the sun. We stayed in Casa Laranjeira, which has the benefit of windows on opposite sides so we could create a natural breeze. Thanks to that lovely breeze, we only used the air conditioner the first night, which was unusually hot. There are terraces on both sides, so no matter where the sun/shade is, you can take advantage. The kitchen is fully equipped with high-quality appliances and tools, even some amenities like coffee/tea, but there is no salt/pepper, oil, or sugar, so you may need to buy or bring those.

Beautiful spacious apartment, and lovely large terrace which got the sun from mid morning to late evening. Pool was brilliant too. Only a 10/15 minute walk to the beach (with a 5 and 6 year old!), and the beach is amazing, huge and sandy! Plenty of space to lay towels if you don’t want to hire sun beds. The beach has lifeguards and just to note the waves can get quite big and the undercurrent strong, but my kids were fine going in if there was a green flag. Apartment is located on the edge of the town but only a short walk to restaurants and bars, Alvor is a really nice town - not too big but plenty of options for eating out and a great atmosphere.

Nothing everything was great

Having a large room to relax at nights as the weather was not its usual sunny self for the time of year. Owner was also really helpful.

The rain was dis-coloured due to sand storms, and therefore the outside furniture continuously got dirty, although obviously nothing to do with the property or the owner.
