"Great traditional house in a fab location."

Great location. Close to shops and loads of restaurants and all transport links. Was a beautiful, traditional house with lots of space. We had a great stay.

We are being fussy Europeans and would have loved some sort of coffee making appliance but there were plenty of coffee places nearby.

"Not as expected"

The location is convenient. The house and clean and neat. Good for foreigners who want to experience Japanese living style.

Feel uncomfortable that there are rules to follow, especially guests are told not to answer the doors and not to disclose any information about the rental. There is no coffee machine or complimentary coffee and tea like general accommodations. There is no TV and no USB plugs or adaptors for charging phones. There is no proper dining area for a family of four - the kitchen is downstairs but the family room is upstairs, there is no dining table downstairs but only a small bench and two bar chairs in the kitchen.

"Superb location and comfy quiet house in Kyoto"

The location of this house was superb. It's very close to a lot of restaurants and right beside the subway station. It's only a 15 - to 20-minute walk to the Gion District. The house had everything we needed. The downstairs bed is extremely comfortable, and the house is in a quiet location. 2 good-sized and comfortable bedrooms upstairs. I would highly recommend this place. They even had lots of umbrella's available for us to use for when it rained. Kyoto is a beautiful city, and the temples are outstanding. The food is also superb 👌🏽

Nothing, really. It was a tiny thing that didn't really make a difference, but the house lacked natural sunlight, but I think that may be normal for houses of this size in Japan.

Lovely traditional house in the heart of Kyoto. The house was very clean and comfortable, in a great location. The host is lovely, very easy to communicate with (with a translator app), and very proactive. Very much recommended.
