Such a wonderful quirky place. Right where we wanted to be. Great little touches - coffee tea etc and mozzie spray! A real find rather than the usual vanilla style hotel. Fluffy towels and robes. Fish in the pond and the sound of rain on the roof. Bathroom water pressure really good and lovely warm showers.

Storage can be a problem but you just have to think outside the box a little. Not great for large suitcases but smaller cases and soft luggage fine.

Le lit était incroyablement confortable. Le propriétaire était adorable et plein de bons conseils. Le logement est beau, authentique et offre une expérience dépaysante. Il y a en plus tout ce dont vous pourriez avoir besoin. Le petit jardin est magnifique. L'emplacement est parfait : proche des temples et à 5mn du métro. Nous avons fait beaucoup à pied. Merci beaucoup !

The hanok was in a quiet area close to cafes ,restaurants, the palaces, ikseondong and two metro stations. The decorations are nicely done and the kitchen set up was great. The courtyard was very pretty but really became unusable space due to its openness to rain, heat and mosquitoes. The host was very responsive and sent daily sightseeing options.

It is really small and not suitable for more than 2 people. We were 3 so the sitting area was converted to an extra foam bed. There was little option to actually unpack or keep luggage open. Unfortunately, the beautiful decorations and artwork took away useful floor space. The hanok living space is small, and you must be prepared to sit and sleep at ground level. Low ceiling with beams which is a challenge if you are taller than 180cm. The toilet / shower is fundamentally outside and not climate controlled or screened so it was hot and humid and had mosquitoes.

It was lovely staying at the hanok for a few days in the 2nd time we were in Seoul. The host was very attentive with suggestions on WhatsApp, including an udon recipe with the ingredients already in the fridge. The location was very convenient, in a quiet street opposite the Changdeokgung Palace, which we visited and also got tickets to the Secret Garden, which was special. The hanok was also an easy walk and metro ride to many tourist sites.

If you find compact spaces challenging, this may not be for you. Note that there’s not a lot of space for big suitcases. Similarly, if you mind crossing the little courtyard to go to the shower. These things didn’t bother us too much. Also, there are a lot of switches and it took some time to work it out, and also how to cool the space - August is hot & humid.

The host was very friendly and the location is extremely good. It was very convenient to get around and the house in itself was very beautiful and tastefully decorated.

It's just a tad too small for three people and the bathroom is outside which was a minor inconvenience. However, the host was very kind in notifying me of probable minor issues that we may face and helped us overcome these issues.

Authenticity of the area and stay.

The bathroom setup was a little awkward, but manageable.
