"Live like a local with this Kyoto Gem"

The location and amenities were wonderful. Close enough to downtown and close to a subway line. The Machiya had all amenities for a comfortable stay including laundry.

The western style beds could use a good cleaning underneath. It also took us longer to figure out how the hot water system worked even with provided documentation.

"A lovely, traditional and comfortable house in a quiet spot, close to all you need in Kyoto."

The house was in a lovely, quiet spot along the canal and a nice easy walk to sights. It was super clean and tidy, with comfortable beds.

My only suggestions for the hosts would be that they really need some hooks or a rack for hanging towels. And the front room could use a way to block the morning light.

"One of the best stays in Kyoto"

I live in Osaka and I’ve stayed at many places in Kyoto already but this place is so amazing especially for the whole Kyoto experience. The house feels like an old Japanese house but modern. Really good bathroom with a modern and old style feeling. It’s beautiful and it is a 10 min walk to the main city area but definilty worth it. I can recommend this please to anyone who loves Japan and is in Kyoto for the full Japanese experience.
