Casa Amendoeira - Fabulous Restored Townhouse in Lagos Old Town With Panoramic Roof Terrace

Great location and the owners, Marc and Uta, were exceptionally helpful and easy to contact.

The location of the townhouse is great, very easy to get to all the nice eateries, bars and coffee shops in the area. You are right in the middle of everything, as it's all within a a few minutes' walk. The communication from the owners of the place was excellent, they have answered all the questions and gave really detailed instructions about the house, so it was very easy to know how to get in and what to do and where to find things during our stay. I liked the decor of the house as well! All the appliances worked well, and the kitchen was really well-equipped.

The house across the street had very noisy parties for the first week of our stay, meaning we couldn't fall asleep until 3-4am for the first several days. The property has far too many stairs (there are 3 sets), which was not clear from the listing - it would have been helpful to have a floorpan as one of the images to realise that there is another set of stairs leading up to the first floor with the bedrooms and that the kitchen is not on the same floor as the dining room, meaning that you have to constantly go up and down the steep staircase before and after each meal. There is then an additional set of stairs to navigate if you wanted to eat on the terrace. All of this made it difficult for us as we had a 5 year old, who we couldn't leave alone. We found the bed much too hard to sleep on and very uncomfortable. Finally the terrace, whilst it had really nice views, didn't have any shade, so we couldn't use it during the day as it was much too hot, and far too windy to be used in the evening. We also felt that the property could benefit from a bit of a update in places, like the balcony with sharp plastic pieces sticking out or the wire on the landing, all of which made it unsafe for our child

It had been advertised as a home away from home and it met that expectations. It was extremely relaxing.
