L'emplacement etait excellent. L'acces egalement. La maison en tres bon état et propre, les chambres spacieuses et bien tenue. Nous avons egalement aprécié les petites attentions d'accueil. Encore un grand merci à Maria Teresa pour sa reactivité suite a nos demandes.

A lovely spacious villa with great rooms, a pretty garden and pool. The two biggest positives are the amount of space and the location. The villa is less than five minutes walk to the Fisherman's coastal path that can be used to walk all the way into Lagos or to the nearby beaches (the nearest of which, contrary to what appears online, is NOT a nudist beach but is quite tricky to walk down to), which are lovely. The beds, bathrooms and kitchen were all great, and it was a real treat to be able to spread out so much and always be able to find a quiet spot. The proximity to a great supermarket (Intermarche) and the town of Lagos was also good, and we ate at the villa and elsewhere about 50/50 during our stay, using the excellent barbecue grill.

A little more attention to detail in the housekeeping standards would be good. Although I appreciate that this is a vast property and must cost a fortune to maintain and keep up to date, it needs subtle updating using the not inconsiderable rental income it attracts. It would also benefit from a bit of an edit: there are multiple useless electrical appliances, which I am sure are never used; many kitchen knives, but not a single sharp one and a motley collection of glassware that's obviously been accumulated over many trips to bars.

The host was very accommodating and responded very quickly to any questions we had. The location is a 2 min walk from the most magnificent cliffs and a grotto beach. Easy to drive 7 minutes to Lagos Old Town or Luz. We also went to Portimão for dolphins and cave exploration and Burgau for a fabulous lunch. The house is spacious and clean. The pool is lovely. The rooftop has an ocean view. We loved all of it!

Maria, our host, was fantastic and very responsive. The house has a lot of space and the swimming pool was excellent. The top bedroom was very large and very comfortable. The house is in a nice neighbourhood.

The house was a bit 'tired', with stains on the ceiling in the main living room, weeds in the plant pots and the outdoor furniture in the front courtyard was disintegrating. I think it's a stretch to say there are 4 bathrooms; there are 3 bathrooms and 1 toilet (which didn't function very well). Access to the beach was less easy than I expected but the overall neighbourhood was nice, if a little noisy with house building going on around us and the next door neighbour's dogs. For the amount we paid, I expected more.

Beautiful traditional family villa. Managed exceptionally well. We loved our time here and can't wait to come back.

Communication with Marie Teresa was excellent. She answered all our questions and concerns, before arrival and during our stay, promptly. She did everything possible to make our stay comfortable. The house accommodated our family’s 3 generations well. The playroom and baby equipment were a selling point for us as we had a toddler and baby with us. The kitchen was very well equipped, and we had plenty of cookware for meals in. In our opinion, the beds were extremely comfortable. The fresh bed linens and towels mid-stay were an unexpected luxury. The location was quiet. The boardwalk access was close by, and the beach at Mos was a short walk away. It was too cold during our stay to use the pool but it looks like it would be great fun in better weather.

We were very happy with our stay at Casa Canavial. As others have commented, the WiFi did not reach to all bedrooms. However, we knew this in advance, and it was not a problem for us.

The villa is in a lovely location, serene and with a lot of privacy. Access to the Fisherman’s trail, which goes along the coastline cliffs, is less than 2 minute walk from the villa. The ocean view from the upstairs bedroom is gorgeous.
