We had a great time at The Barn. It was a perfect location for the Darlo 10k, the property was clean and well-equipped, and the hosts were super helpful and friendly. Would definitely stay again!

We loved everything about the The Barn - picture postcard tranqil location, spacious, clean and with a lovely mezzanine looking out onto the veranda and outside seating area. Full of character but modern and with beautiful bedrooms especially the master with a roll bath. The hosts were very welcoming and happy for us to explore the beautiful garden. Perfect for a friends reunion and there was plenty to do and explore within easy reach of this very scenic area. Would not hesitate to recommend the property and hope to visit again.

No locks on the bathroom or toilet. Would benefit from a four slice toaster

The kitchen was stocked with everything you could need. The outdoor area is lovely (although we didn't get to use it because of the weather). I also love that there are 2 living rooms!

I found the bed in the room with the ensuite uncomfortable - it was too hard. But the other beds were comfortable.

It would be so much easier if the property had a name on it as we drove up and down the road several times and had to ask residents , who didnt even know the property. I did ring the host but they where busy and did not answer , i left a message - i did receive a text later to apologise for not answering when we had finally found the property

It was very over looked no privacy, the property is next door to the owners (who are lovely) but the owner was working so kept walking past (they didnt look in but it felt strange ) . One of the bathrooms windows literally looks into the owners home. When sitting downstairs the windows face the owners residence there is no hedge or fence you can see straight in. You could draw the curtains as we did on the first night but no ideal . The garden area is tiny and this and again was literally in the owners back garden . They have a dog which is lovely and we love dogs if you dont, you might want to let them know as he is a friendly doggie who likes snuggles. Might be a good idea to put a small table and chairs on the balcony leading off the upstairs living room - not sure if this hasnt been done as you would look straight into the next doors garden. The main living room is downstairs' if it was upstairs it would be a lot lighter, warmer and not overlooked by the owners - just need to move the TV up stairs or have a radio in there . An addition of some board games would be good (all the properties I have stayed in always have this ) . Maybe also download BBC iPlayer something like that I did try but wasn't loading - this seems to be a standard in other properties I have stayed in. Be aware that you will need to take provisions there is a village Beadle (very ancient and a row of shops very pretty) approx 5 min away in the car within the area of the Barn, there is no locals shop like coop etc there is a farm shop but no idea what that stocks, as when we got there it was closing .

Excellent accommodation, beautifully finished with everything you need for a perfect family getaway.
