"Amazing little get away"

10.0

Loved everything about this place. I was in the area for work and the hotel options are very limited in this area. I came across this listing and a am so glad I did. It was like a vacation even though I was working. Perfect for a couples get away but also great for the family. 100% recommend this amazing rental.

Looks and roomieness and kitchen/dining area.

Very steep narrow only graveled drive way and pretty much only one vehicle parking at cabin.

"If you can make it to the front door, the view is amazing!"

8.0

Spacious cabin with a fully stocked kitchen. The view is amazing! Loads of room for our large family. Beds were comfortable, and there was plenty of seating and lounge room. We stayed the week of Christmas and even got 2 days of snow! The cabin would have been magical with some decorations or even a fake tree in a corner! Fortunately, I brought our stockings and some garlands, but what a missed opportunity for the cabin setup.

The description states a 4 wheel drive vehicle is "strongly recommended." NO. It is REQUIRED. I received a message stating it was required AFTER I booked. I made it halfway up in a Nissan Titan, in low gear with the tow button on... may have made it all the way if the drive was maintained, but it's in need of clearing and gravel. It is a moderately grueling .25 mile walk up a STEEP incline - be forewarned. There is nowhere to rent an ATV. We ended up buying a $70 utility cart from Walmart and planning our days to only walking back to the cabin once per day. I cannot understand why they would not make this amazing property more accessible by having a vehicle in a locked shed at the base... There is ONE tv upstairs in the loft. Not sure why the main living room does not have one as there is plenty of room. The 2 downstairs bedrooms were always cold, no matter what we did. Fortunately, there were plenty of blankets for the kids. There was a fire pit but no chairs to enjoy it with! Bummer. There was a fireplace but no wood or lighter, despite the book stating where to find them. There are no locks on the bathroom/bedroom doors! What the heck? The master bath had a spa tub, but the hot water consistently ran out before we could fill it even halfway. The basketball game in the basement was broken, and the pool table was a tiny bumper table. There is so much potential for this cabin to be truly stellar, and it just fell a little flat.

"Beautiful scene, cabin meh."

6.0

Beautiful view. Very clean

The cabin was probably something in the 80’s. It was a little dated. 1 television in loft not in living room or master or loft bedroom. Bathrooms: round bowl squatty potties, very small and tough on old knees. Loft shower is extremely small, master bath shower door sticks and the track pops off. Bedrooms: No drawers only a closet. Furniture: you couldn’t find more uncomfortable couches if you tried. The loft couch was intolerable, the front room just a little better. Definitely need 4WD to access the steep, narrow gravel drive. If you have bad knees, lots of stairs to negotiate. Basement; I would put some work into the moldy smelling unfinished basement, they have a bumper pool table down there and a pop a shot game that is broken, but who wants to go down there and sit in that dank space with a broken down old couch, I have donated better furniture to Goodwill. We did not use the basement. I am also accustomed to being informed when someone is going to be on property. We were not! We came back one day to find someone had been in cabin to remove window units, which forced us to take inventory of personal items that were there ie jewelry, cash, prescriptions, personal protection items. Not cool. We were invaded by wasps and other bugs. I counted at one point 15 wasps in the house fortunately not the kind I have an allergy to. NO firewood next to driveway as advertised. Overall not bad at a lesser price but no bargain at the asking rate.
