"Casa Verde" en Baños de Agua Santa con vista al volcán Tungurahua

We loved the location- great views from the windows of the town and waterfall (especially when it was lit up at night) and the front deck views were outstanding especially on clear days seeing the volcano! The beds were very comfortable and the kitchen was well stocked. A few of us were sick and the host was very accommodating- helping us find a place to stay a day early, allowing us to drop off our bags early when we arrived and checking in on us throughout the stay. We felt very at home, which was so nice after weeks of travel-it was just what we needed to enjoy our wonderful fun-filled days in Banos!

The property was just across the gorge over a bridge, but has a great vantage point to see the town and the surrounding water falls. You can see the lighting display on the main waterfall in the city from the top level. Each bedroom had its own ensuite. You definitely need a car to get to this property or you'll be walking at least 20 mins to get to the town or if you need to bring supplies. The cottage has a full kitchen, dining and living room. You can also keep a pet there. On the 2nd night, there was no town water and the owner offered to let us stay at their other property which was also nice (except this one was definitely the better of the two).

The shower in the room upstairs had a loose nut so you couldn't really have a reliable shower with hot water as it just kept leaking. I'm not sure if there was an on site rainwater tank, but maybe that could have solved the town water supply issue during the severe storm in the area

It is a true gem.

While the house is incredible and the location is magical, it is important to note that it is a 15-minute walk to town and isn't necessarily an easy walk.

We loved everything about this place! It's truly a retreat in the middle of nature and an easy walking distance to town. The home is stylishly decorated, very clean with comfortable beds, Wi-Fi signal is great, and the views are just breathtaking! A place to come back to again and again!

Our first night there, someone came to the house and woke us up around 5am - very unexpected and threw us off a bit. Luckily, my husband speaks Spanish fluently and was able to work the situation out.

Spacious cozy house, situated on a hill just in 10 minutes walking distance from the city center. Lovely staff, sparkly clean, wonderful beds! Fully equipped kitchen and laundry! Own parking lot free of charge! Stunning views from the balcony, very quiet, large patio with a BBQ, and as a bonus - your own little river! Highly recommend!
