Gojozaka Samurai Machiya

How traditional it was, it was clean , facilities great for 8 adults, we loved how comfortable the bedrooms where. Everything worked, heating , showers, washing machine. The location is great, a little out of the way from restaurants, but they are only a good walk away.

Getting to the property, required a walk down a steep bank and steps, access would be unsuitable for for anyone with any mobility issues, I believe this should be pointed out on booking.

The property was gorgeous, very clean house and we loved the decor. Perfectly tucked away in a quiet neighborhood, and we had the best sushi of our trip right across the street from the top of the stairs up!

Appartement magnifique, la décoration est splendide, il est Sam le samouraï qui trône dans le salon. L’appartement est idéalement situé et il est très facile de se rendre au centre-ville.

L’appartement n’est pas très facile d’accès Ma femme s’est trouvé nez à nez avec une blatte d’environ 5 cm

This machiya is absolutely beautiful! I love the mix of modern amenities with a traditional look.

Office staff was fabulous helping out with making calls regarding items lost in Kyoto and with following up. Above and beyond service, and much appreciated.

Nothing, but the stairs could be difficult for some travelers, both inside and outside.

Location was paramount for us. Comfort and cleanliness also important This location is ideal

First, the staff was very helpful in finding places to eat and even making some reservations. Second, the place was a home run with my grown children. It was such a cool authentic experience yet very comfortable, it had a place to sit around the table and enjoy the time together. Amazingly decorated in traditional Japanese style. Absolutely loved this place and would definitely stay there again.

Picky but the toilet paper was rather cheap, like all toilet paper in Japan I’ve seen.
