18, Waterside park, Fernly Holiday Home

No communication prior to arrival so had to phone owner for key code. The accommodation was not cleaned from previous occupants. Communicated with owner and was told cleaners were on way, however at 4pm checkin time we made the decision not to stay as we wouldn’t have felt comfortable that accommodation would have been thoroughly cleaned.

We needed to come down from Cumbria to visit poorly family so we wanted somewhere quiet and comfortable, with everything we needed, and a nice outside space to sit and contemplate and walk our dog. We found all this here, so were very happy and would stay again. I particularly appreciated the bath - having only a shower at home! The beds were very comfy, I could hear the sea with the window open, and there was plenty of storage space in the bedrooms. Corton woods, just down the road, with it's little coffee cabin, was my favourite place to walk and have a lovely brunch.

It was lovely and clean and the beds were comfy.

Simply great

The property was nice. Smelled like it was clean. Kitchen was well equipped bathroom was nice and all bedrooms were a good size. Enclosed patio was safe for my dog a my friend's 4 year old.

Didn't receive instructions prior to my arrival how to get into the property. My bedsheet was dirty. Luckily we found spare bedding so I was able to change the sheet. Only 1 towel per person and 1 hand towel between us, I know not a big deal. But I was there with my friend not a family. Upstairs balcony and the patio area needed sweeping, there were cobwebs everywhere. Blinds on windows were falling a part. Could have a chair on the balcony.

Fernly was just like the photos on entry.. The site is lovely, quiet & clean. The clubhouse staff were very friendly. Find out what is on before you arrive as you may need to book a table. We tried the pool 🥳 lovely and warm. Great communication from our host. 😊 Easy entry and very helpful. Bus stop just outside the site for busses into Lowestoft & Great Yarmouth. The pub across the road is great and because of this it gets busy. Chinese also has a great choice @ amazing prices We would love to return.

Minor things. Only 2 seats for outside when it's set up for 5. The blinds in the front bedroom desperately need replacing as they are falling apart. A mat for the shower might be a good idea. I hate saying anything negative as in spite of the above we would try Fernly again ☺️

Swimming pool fabulous, warm, clean, not busy, no need to book. Pub on site ok, pub opposite good. Handy it has a shop behind the pub and take away menu. Great location with lots in surrounding areas. Nice touch to have tea towel and towels etc left for our use. Great to have the option of using the washing machine if we wanted to. WiFi was great - obviously very important with a teenage boy with us!

A few little things but not enough to spoil our breakaway! Bedroom blinds in poor condition and needed curtains for extra comfort and keep light out in the early morning. Bed frame poor condition and mattress uncomfortable for us. (I ended up sleeping on the sofa because of the back pain). Fridge was dirty and had remains of old food inside. When I went to use the oven a few days into our stay I found a baking tray with old burned chips still in there. It was dirty and smelt awful. I would have expected housekeeping to check this when cleaning the kitchen. Only 2 outdoor chairs on the decking to sit outside... not enough for our family of 3. No chairs upstairs to sit on balcony which was a shame.
