Cree River Cottage

The host was very welcoming and helpful towards telling us about close by attractions.

Beautiful cosy comfortable cottage. Great shower. Washing machine. Bright and airy. Quiet. Shop 3 doors down, church nearby. Parking. Jack the host is a gentleman, he took time to call in to us briefly to tell us about local beauty spots and things to do, due to that knowledge we saw locations we would not find ourselves. Thoughtful gestures, home made brown bread and milk left for us. Jack allowed our lab pup which we really appreciated. We will be back.

Honestly there wasn’t anything we didn’t like.

Location was superb for touring, and the local shop excellent. The size and layout of the property were appropriate. The host was helpful and friendly with useful advice about the surrounding area. The heating was excellent and responsive. The bed was comfortable. The electric shower was effective. Everything was clean.

Especially given the lack of a dishwasher, a working plug for the kitchen sink or a decent washing-up bowl would be good. I used the biggest mixing bowl. A clothes airer would be helpful to dry clothes. The kitchen is well equipped, but we rather wanted more than one medium sized plate. The double bed creaked terribly, not usually when we were in it, but when we got up in the middle of the night, it was impossible to avoid waking our partner. The loo seat shifted around unpredictably. These were all minor. We would return.

Seamless booking process, clear communications with Jack the owner and easy to collect keys with use of key box. Beautiful home, with everything and more you could need - I liked the the assortment of kitchen utensils, lots of tea towels and even handy things like screw drivers and spare bulbs in a misc. draw. So lovely of Jack to leave out fresh bread and pop by to say hello and give us tips for the local area.

Beds a little squeaky, but other than that everything was great!

The host actually met us at the door, showed us the lockbox, and had left a fresh homemade loaf of bread. Exception, and thank you, Jack!

The washer/dryer didn't actually dry clothes. That was the only problem.

We had a very good time in Jack's house. He recommended us some things to do, so we had a good start into the Claire county. The house is clean, we approved of the washing machine. There is a possibility to sit outside which we enjoyed. To be highly recommended.
