Lovely lodge with hot tub which was a lovely surprise break for a family of 4.

A few niggly things. Usually I don’t leave bad reviews I’d rather not leave one at all than pull a place down, but I feel these needs to be voiced. The dishwasher when we used it leaked all over the kitchen floor. The washing machine included, the door didn’t sit flush against the machine so the machine picked up that the door wasn’t locked. The light in the main bedroom doesn’t work. No anti slip mat in the bathroom, showering 2 children was a bit difficult and I feel families would benefit from an anti slip mat to avoid an accident as the shower door doesn’t move. It stated an iron was provided, however when we went to get it out of the box there was an empty box without an iron (photo included) one thing that should be checked is bedding. My daughter went to bed and there was blood on the sheets (photo included) by no means am I pulling this business apart because it was a lovely break and we enjoyed our stay however these little niggly things let it down for the money you pay and expect a service.

"Handy location if you want to visit Northumberland. Not the best site for a relaxing break!"

6.0

The lodge itself was a good size and had all it needed for self catering and more ( eg wash machine) Twin rooms bed were comfy but a little short if you were 5'5 or over. ( not a major problem) some sogns of wear but standard of cleanliness decent. Decent location to explore Northumberland.

Firstly hot tub area- looks inviting on pictures and appears like behind screen but actually tub was in full view of anyone passing and area needed weeding. The rear of tub was a stream but all overgrown and we couldnt use because of lots of midges. Not sure why tub position moved and again in pictures looked a nice little grass area with patio slabs to tub but it was all a bit untidy. Sounds trivial but not easy to relax in a tub that isnt private and area untidy. There was some sort of trench being dug that omitted a bad smell of marshland type smell that was apparent as soon as we arrived. The maintenance team were doing things with large reels of wire, sawing plastic sheets, using a digger etc right outside the lodge. They never actually seemed to finish a job though and just left whatever they had been working on strewn across the verge. First night went to the crazy horse pub- was given wrong food " chefs first day on shift" was the response. we were charged for the additional wrong foods brought to the table as well. Walking back saw a few people that had obviously had a lot to drink and were staggering about holding each other up. (not an issue as such each to their own!) Lastly a family a few doors down decided to have an almighty domestic that could be heard in its entireity. I am aware i sound like a real "karen" but tjese are my views from just two nights spent at lodge. Lastly wifi you are asked if you want to pay for, £10 was requested to access wifi. ( We have same plug in wifi that cost £15 per month) We took our own. Positives are thst is situated kn A1 close to coast, morpeth etc If not driving there are limited places to walk. My family went to the zoo and left me to walk dog but there wasnt anywhere to go.

"A nice place and location and ideal for what we wanted as a base for our trips - would go back"

Lovely location, quiet and friendly site, good communication with host before arrival

A few small things. We tested the hot tub and it had no chlorine in it. The oven didn't work and there was mess under the sofa in the lounge - it hadn't been cleaned underneath

The site, the staff and the people

Broken fridge, broken washer, not may jets working on the hot tub, caravan a bit worn out and damaged
