One highlight of our stay was the astonishing bathtub inside the house. The use of natural onsen water added a special touch, creating a truly rejuvenating experience. It was a wonderful feature that enhanced our overall relaxation during our time in Hakone

While the onsen was astonoshing, several aspects of the accommodation left much to be desired.  The condition of the house was subpar. The bed linen, which appeared old and worn, emitted a noticeable, persistent moldy smell. This not only affected our comfort but also exacerbated my allergies, making for an uncomfortable stay. The moldy odor permeated the entire house, creating an unpleasant environment. Additionally, the overall maintenance of the property was lacking. We noticed a significant amount of dust accumulation and spider webs throughout. This indicated a lack of regular cleaning and upkeep, which further detracted from our overall experience. Given the reputation for cleanliness in Japan, we expected a higher standard, especially for the price. These issues were significant drawbacks that greatly impacted our stay. Additionally, the property was challenging to reach from Hakone Station. I would strongly recommend opting for a taxi to avoid the inconvenience. Upon arrival, finding the apartment was a bit of a puzzle, and some more detailed directions would have been greatly appreciated. In the future, I hope the host addresses these issues to provide a more comfortable and enjoyable stay for guests.

Location was good and easy to get to. Showers and indoor/ outdoor baths were excellent. View in the morning was nice. Tenzan Onsen was recommended and was good for foreigners.

Felt the pictures of the property were not reflective of the standard of the property now. There are stains on the carpet and for the price you’d expect more. It sleeps a lot of people so might be better value if you had 8 or more but this was the most expensive place we stayed at in Japan and the lowest standard. The property hadn’t been well maintained and the outdoor bath which was the main reason for selecting the property was a let down. You really need a car to get to the property or taxi.

I booked this place because of the nice photos and also because this seemed perfect for our group. I expected this place to look like the pictures on the website.

It was really unclean, especially for japanese standards. For me personally, this was the filthiest place I ever booked. The place was not well maintained, it was really worn down. Old dirt and stains were everywhere, the air con fan was so full of dirt in the Master bedroom toilet, that it couldn't function anymore, we had to try to clean it ourselves. Furthermore were our bedsheets dirty, when we arrived. Some windows and balconies were so dirty, that you almost can't see through. In my opinion, this place is nothing like in the pictures anymore. I was really disappointed from this place. The location from this place is far away from the station, luckily there is a bus connection. The building from the outside was also not well maintained. The building was really hard to find in the first place. You only receive two towels per person, which didn't absorb water anyway. In my opinion you need more towels or at least a bigger one for the use of the hot tub. After our experience I can't reccommend this place.
