It was a little difficult to find the place. Other than that, it was great!

Beautiful cave apartment within walking distance of everything. Lovely patio area. Host was so helpful, sending us directions on how to get to and access the apartment.

Cave home beautifully fitted out. Modern inside and spotlessly clean. The host gave good directions, both for parking and to get to the property. We were sent a video tracing the exact path to walk to the property - essential in the old town where there are few street names and houses are all identical or similar. A small problem with the wifi was fixed efficiently by the host. Really quiet and atmospheric at night when the day trippers have left. We really loved our stay in Matera.

Although there was a coffee machine, it would have been nice to have a kettle to make tea. Also, only tiny (espresso) paper coffee cups were provided.

Easy e-communication with the owner.

The noise from the early morning- unfortunately- coming from the construction of the neighbors house.

Beautifully restored apartment with a lovely private terrace. The fixtures and fittings are superb quality with a very comfy bed. There is a small fridge for drinks etc. No plates or cutlery if you want to do take out. The location is excellent right in the heart of the Sassi Caveoso but also very near to a main street with lots of restaurants. Many of the main tourist sites are also very close by. Matera is truly a place unlike anywhere else it is stunning wherever you are. I would recommend a taxi if you are using public transport to get to the property, Google maps takes you down hundreds of steps. There are easier ways without steps. All in all a fantastic property right in the heart of the old town with great restaurants on your doorstep.

Because Matera is a work in progress and is continually being renovated, builders start tapping and banging away very early.

Authentic stay but also very modern and clean. Water in fridges much appreciated! The terrace is exceptional and gets sun until late in the day. This place was amazing.

The communication could have been better and more friendly.

Very central location in Sassi with tons of restaurants and bars around. Perfect for detailed exploration of Matera. The apartment looks exactly as on the photos. If you’re travelling with the car like us, there are plenty of options where to leave it but I recommend Garage - Via Timmari 2 and from there, approx. 600m you’ll have a bus station (linea Sassi) which takes you straight to the old town. We haven’t meet the apartment owner but he gave us excellent guide (video) to the premises.

We had an unpleasant situation on Saturday morning, because the neighbour in the ground floor house is doing renovations and started at 7:00! When we complained, the owner sorted things out so we could have a decent sleep the next morning. Not sure we noticed anything about the wifi missing but there was no wifi in the apartment.

Very beautifully decorated cave hotel with a nice yard and great view. Only 10min walk from the centre piazza.
