Beautiful cottage in rural mayo, lovely stove with free turf supplied, wine on table, bread and loads of other things from owner, beds so comfy and the peace and quiet so nice, we also found the water here is just worth bottling it's beautiful, and best of all a nice wee pub just 5 mins walk, so friendly local people, the beaches and mountains are just so scenic, close to belmullet with lovely food pubs and shops, it is areal break from big city, I would like to thank the owner and caretaker!!

"We will be looking for this property again, it is very well planned for couples or a small family."

9.0

We thought the property was very nice and was fresh and clean. The owner put a fire on for our arrival. There was coffee, shower gel, and clean linen on every bed including towels. The property was well maintained and provided outdoor seating and an enclosed garden/driveway so our two dogs could roam the grounds as they liked. Both my wife and I have balance issues and so suggest a grab bar or two in the shower as well as a shower seat or chair that can be used when needed.

Anything can always be better but we really cannot think of a specific thing we did not like. The setting is quite remote but if you want to get away and chill then this is the right place. We chose not to bring much food as we planned to find restaurants and these were available in Belmullet. If you want a quick meal out, you are out of luck out of season and probably all year long on Mondays and Tuesdays. We knew Belmullet was half an hour away and so we had snacks and light food for breakfast. The kitchen is a sociable setting, in the diner/lounge and is well stocked with everything needed to prepare a feast so if you are self-catering you will be very happy as long as you do your shopping in Balina or Belmullet on your way in. We were so happy we wanted to stay an extra day but we were disappointed as someone had beat us to the punch.

"The perfect rural getaway, the undisturbed and tranquil west."

10.0

If you need time away from the day to day grind this is the place for you, it’s remote, quiet and quaint, just what we wanted. A few minutes drive to the stunning Portacloy Beach.

The sea can be seen from the property but you don’t have one from inside the house, this is not a negative as the area certainly makes up for this.

The accommodation is in a quiet location. It is a whole house which is well equipped for a longer stay. The wood burning stove is great and heats the whole house. It is a good base for exploring the surrounding coastline with its cliffs

"Overall we had a great stay in a spectacular part of Co. Mayo."

Beautiful location, nice comfortable house. Locals were very friendly. Dinny’s Ferrybar was close by, with very friendly staff as were all locals who were in the bar.

Armchairs and couch were quite cramped and small. TV service was quite poor- channels kept blurring.
