I chose the location as it is easy to park the rental car away from the town centre a 5 minute drive away, or 15 - 20 minute walk

This little studio is beautiful and kept in a really nice condition. Its a fairly quick walk to the centre - and a local bakery with amazing foccacia! It came with a percolator and coffee, and tea - which made mornings a lot easier!

The walk to the centre is a little long, but completely doable. Maybe not something a solo traveller would be comfortable doing at night, though I'm sure Matera is very safe.

The location is not bad - 15 min. from a central town squire by walk. The building is strange but nice. The host sent me a video - how to find a key etc.

I don't like that we had to leave the property at 10 o'clock AM. Later I understood that it's the regular check-out time in the South Italy at the moment.

the bathroom shower had a missing panel and that made it hard to shower without using all the towels to dry the floor

We like staying in this apartment, the room was really nice, interesting, clean, well equipped. Location is 15 minutes walking from old city. Ca parking is in front of the building, in the street, for free. Communication with host was easy, we found the key in the keybox.
